Love Lessons (On Hold)

Lesson #3: Make a Move Whenever You Can

I quickly pulled my brown hair up into a ponytail and swished it around, "Huh? Maximum swingyness?" I smiled at Cat (My new nickname for Cathy, whose real name is Catherine.) .

Cat laughed, "Perfect! For your daaaaaaaaaaaate!" she winked.

"Shutttup!" I flopped on my bed, and she smiled.

"I cant believe he asked you out!" she grinned.

"Oh bloody hell! Neither can I!" I squealed, "This is so unlike me! To like a guy!"

I covered my face as Cat spoke: "But thats so great! You know he likes you! I may not be the smartest in the world, but I know when people like each other."

"Cat, I'm so nervous. It happened so fast."  I sighed, thinking about the past events.

YESTERDAY 

As normal, Collin picked me up to go to school. We pulled up to school, and AS SOON as we got out: "Hey baby!" squealed Cat.

I shook my head, and waved at her, "Hi Cat."

"Hiiiiii!" she smiled, and waved frantically.

"Dont we make a cute couple?" Collin smiled, pulling her close.

"Darling." I rolled my eyes.

"Have you seen whats his face?" Collin asked, uninterested in the answer.

"No. Some guys just disappear." I quoted Cat.

"Well, good guys dont disappear. I'm still here." Collin smiled his signature smile.

"Oh, golly honey. You make everything about your cute self." Cat said pinching his cheek.

I fake gagged then walked away, "Just like bloody newlyweds." I huffed.

I felt someone wrap their arms around me, their body heat warming up my body from the cold January air., "Who the hell-?" I started.

I could feel the mystery person angle their head down to whisper in my ear, "Its me." they said. They said it in a .....country accent.

I flipped around to be face to face with Nate. I smiled, "Hi."

"Hi."

"Where have you been!?" I frowned.

He smirked at me and laughed a little, "Where have I been?" he repeated.

"Yes. Yes, where have you been?"

Nate smiled a sexy smile, and laughed. AGAIN, then he bent down to my level and kissed my cheek, "In your dreams."

"What the hell kind of answer was that?" I shouted, as he walked away.

I stopped and looked at him. He winked, his blondish brown hair falling in his face. I melted. The only thing I could do? I rolled my eyes at him and smiled.

"HE KISSED YOUR CHEEK!?" Cat gushed in happiness.

"Yes. He kissed my cheek." I melted replaying the moment with her and Collin.

"Did you disinfect your face?" Collin asked in a shrill voice.

"Bloody hell, Im your best friend. Be happy for me." I snapped.

"I know, Colly? Why cant you just be happy for her? Our little student body president has a crush!" Cat squealed.

"Yeah, on a total douche." Collin spat.

"Oh, please. I think youre the total 'douche' here." I spat back, "You're such an arse. You sit and say 'Get a boyfriend, get a boyfriend' then you go downing the guy I like!"

"Well, you deserve better!" he shouted.

"Oh God! Whats wrong with you, Collin!? Its not like I'm some 5 star catch!" I shouted back, getting aggervated.

"Yes, you are, Hero! You are a catch, damn it!" he shouted.

Cat and I just looked at Collin. His face was red from yelling and he didnt have that happy look on his face, "Collin....what--?" Cat started in a soft voice.

"I gotta fucking go." Collin stormed out of the almost empty cafeteria.

"I better go talk to him. He's my boyfriend." she shrugged. "Collin! Collin!" I could hear Cat hollar as she ran out the door looking for him.

The next class got even better, "Okay, class. Today we are going to the Library to work on our project!" Mr. Huffman smiled.

"Woo. I get to spend the whole time talking to you." Nate smiled.

"Is that a compliment or an insult?" I asked, puzzled.

"I could never insult you. You're perfect." Nate winked.

I blushed, "Oh such a lie."

We made it to the Library and I sat on the couch, Collin looked at me puzzled. "When you were on your little vacation. I finished the project."

"Well, good job Superwoman." Nate plopped down beside me.

"Superwoman?"

"Well, your name is Hero. And Superwoman was a female hero. Unless you'd rather it be something like...I dont know.. Catwoman or Spiderwoman?"

"No," I paused, "I like Superwoman. Its cute."

"Just like you." Nate cooed, he pulled me closer, "Did you miss me while I was gone?"

"No." I lied, "Where were you anyway?" I asked, pulling away.

"Somewhere. Its too long and weird to explain. But I can explain it over bowling on Saturday?" Nate suggested.

"Is that a date?" I asked, trying not to blush.

"Well, only if you want it to be." he smiled.

I had a mental love lesson from Cat pop in my head, 'Make a Move when you can!'. I thought for a second, "Well. Only if you want it to be a date."

"Well. Hell fucking yes I want it to be a date." he smiled a to-die-for smile.

"Then its a date."

"A date with the student body president, who's a rich, sexy, straight A student. I think I lucked out." Nate said.

"Yes, you did luck out." I smiled.

BACK TO TODAY

"Oh my geez Louise! Thats the cutest story EVAR!" Cat gushed, "I cant to hear how it goes tomorrow!"

Cat, my new best friend besides Collin, was spending the night to prepare me for the date. "Did you tell Collin? I'm sure he'll be pissed." I frowned.

"No, not yet. What do I say? 'Your best friends got a date with the guy you hate!' " she laughed.

"I rhymed, put it on a card and BAM! we got it." I laughed.

"I cant believe he calls you Superwoman. Thats so cute!" she smiled.

"I know! And its all thanks to you!" I grinned, hugging her.

"Yeah! That love lesson came in handy. Always make a move whenever you can. Thats how I got Collin." she winked.

"Thats how I got Nate." I winked back.
