I was shocked to see Sammy and that he was in my house, for that matter. "Sammy?"
He smiles and says, "That's my name. Don't ware it out."
Then I remembered that when Sammy and I become friends, he had the best sense of humor. He could make anyone smile.
We all laughed at his joke, except of Addie who has, like, zero present of humor. We introduced ourselves and then Addie said, "So how do you too know each other?"
Aoi smiles mischievously and asks, "The more important question is how and why is he in your house?"
"Well, I teleported inside and I'm here to help you all find Ryan's father and preform the ritual to end the war before my people, the Zathas, destroy our world and your world."
"I'm confused," Aoi says bluntly.
"Same here," I say.
Sammy sighs and says, "The Zathas, my people, and the Iyas, Ryan's people—"
"Wait! Ryan isn't human?" Aoi asks.
"Shut up, Aoi. She already told us that she is an alien," Addie says, annoyed.
"She did?"
I nod and say, "Continuing on..."
"Thank you, Ryan. Anyway. The Zathas and Iyas have been at war with each other for about 35 years now. The Zathas are tired of fighting and losing warriors so they want to create a weapon of mass destruction with a blast so big, it will destroy both our world, Thanta, and your world, Earth. That's why they needed Ryan's dad, who is also an Iya, because he is a very good inventor."
"But how will the WMD's radius reach Earth and not any other planets?" Kelly asks.
"WMD? What's that?"
I smile and say, "It's an abbreviation for weapons of mass destruction."
"Ah. Thank you for clarifying. You see, we have several areas on Thanta that line up with your world. For example, we have a place on Thanta called the Forestellawode. It lines up with a place you call Area 51."
"The Forestellawode... it sounds familiar," I mumble.
Sammy nods and says, "That's where we became friends long ago."
Then I remember the memory even clearer, the trees more defined and glowing pure gold. The stars lining up to make constellations in the trees. It felt so real. It was real.
Sammy smiles and says, "The constellations match up with the ones here so it is a perfect portal to Area 51."
"Wait!!!! Area 51!!" Aoi shouts.
Addie and Kelly sigh at the same time and say, "Yes, Aoi. Pay attention."
Aoi crosses her arms and says, "Okay."
"Unfortunately, the blast of the WMD, as you call it, will go through the portal and BOOM!!!! No more Earth or Thanta."
"That's awful," Addie says.
"We don't wanna die!" Aoi and Kelly whine, hugging each other.
"Not if we can stop it. I remember reading in the Legends of Thanta that there was some ritual that the daughter of Catalena and son of Xavier do to bring their ancestors back and they help guide them to end the war. And aren't we the daughter of Catalena and son of Xavier, Sammy?"
"Yes, but our parents never had the chance to teach us how to preform the ritual so our best bet is to probably stop the WMD from being built."
"Well, then. Let's go!" Aoi says.
"Ummmm... It's not gonna be that easy, Aoi," Sammy says. "I don't have anymore teleportation crystals. We're going to have to go to Area 51 and use the portal there."
"Awesome! Road trip!" Aoi says, pumping her fist in the air.
"Aoi, Los Vegas is eight and a half hours away from San Francisco. Also, it's a top secret government facility! We don't even know where it is!"
"I do," Sammy says, pulling out a weird looking GPS.
"Of course you do and how far away is Area 51 from Los Vegas?" Addie asks crossing her arms.
"About three hours so that would be a total of eleven and a half hours in the car." This makes everyone groan.
"But we still have one problem," Kelly says.
"What?" we all say at the same time.
"Who is gonna drive us all the way into the Middle of Nowhere, U.S.A.?"
