~Domo POV~
My leather shoes clicked as I walked down an abandoned open corridor. I squinted my eyes as I looked towards my right. The sun shone on my face, and the sun was setting-causing the sky to be a bright array of oranges and yellows. I looked over the horizon, and stopped, facing the balcony that overlooked a large cliff. I approached it, with pillars on either side of me- and looked at a beautiful sight. I saw the sea.
Right below the cliff, was a dock that held a magnificent ship. The Black Dragon. I smiled and let the cool breeze flow through my hair, and past my frock coat. My hands were tucked in a respectful manner behind my back.
It was silent in this part of England. Not very many people knew about this small village along the rocky, Western shores. We were docked in Glasgow, doing trading and letting the captain play a game or two of Liar's Dice with a few old friends we have made over the years.
"Domo!" I heard someone call.
I turned around and saw Jareth, Tim, and Terry walking quickly towards me.
I smiled. "Greetings, to Ye all."
"I am starving! Do Ye know where we can get some food in our bellies?" Terry said, quite bluntly. I laughed and pointed behind them, towards the village market place. "There's a Tavern next to the butchery."
"Ah, thank you, Domo! Oh- I have some extra silver pieces... Ye can come with us if Ye want...?"
"Why not?" We laughed together and walked in the direction of the markets.
----------------
Walking into the tavern, I heard loud laughing and beer mugs clanging together in toasts. The smell of alchohol and rancid cheeses stung my nostrils as we walked up to the bar.
"Y'can seat y'self" The tavern keeper smiled and motioned to the seating area to our right. I looked over to where a bunch of shouting was coming from-and the first thing I saw was a small woman surrounded by a bunch of men...playing Liar's Dice. And of course, who was the lass!?
The Captain, herself!
She shook her wooden cup and flipped it 'bottom's up' onto the playing table. Three other men around her did the same thing.
She lifted hers up, and the three men looked disappointed, while she looked smug.
Kahtarina loved to play that game- but to me, it was nothing but a gamble.
As she moved her arms about, I could see the "P" on her arm, that her brother engraved. Great- another scar for her to cherish.
Jareth, Tim, Terry, and I walked to a table not too far from where the captain was playing. We sat down and Terry began to speak.
"So, Domo- how are yer paintin's comin' along?" She grinned.
"I didn't know Domo could paint!" Tim looked surprised.
I shrugged and smiled. "Maybe I do~".
"Aw, ye'll have to show us when we get back on the ship!" Jareth squeaked.
A man with strange tattoos and odd clothing walked up to our table.
"What d'ye want?" He asked, as he set down some drinks for us.
We told him our orders and he left.
"Interesting character." I said, as I took a sip of my tea. Terry and Tim nodded, while Jareth watched the captain play her game.
"What's the cap'n playin'?" He asked.
"Liars dice." I said, looking into my drink.
"What's that?"
"It's a game where all players roll the dice in their cups, then place it upside-down over their dice to conceal them from the other players. Then, proceeding clockwise, each player must make consecutively higher bids or challenge the previous player's bid. A bid consists of a number and the value of a die. If someone thinks that they gave a false number, then they yell 'liar'..."
At that moment, I heard Kahtarina yell "Liar!!".
"... And if the person was right, they get currency..." I said, still staring into my tea.
Kahtarina was laughing and I could tell that she had won. "...It's a gamble, really."
"That woman has some luck, doesn't she?" Asked Tim.
I nodded. "She always has."
~Then~
Kahtarina's clear face was dribbled with raindrops as she took a fighting stance with her sword. We were in the middle of trying to take over this ship and we had lost some of our helpers.
Kat was always good with a sword, but right now- I'm not so sure.
She swung the sword swiftly, as the men from the boat's crew surrounded us. I began to use my throwing knives and take some of them out, as Solice, Daniel, and Karstiela began to take others.
Kahtarina screamed and I snapped my head to look at her. She had her hand over her right eye, and I saw blood seeping from between her fingertips.
The man she was fighting, had slashed her face and was grinning evily.
I immeditley grabbed a sword from a dead body and ran towards him, piercing him through the heart.
I left the sword in his chest as he fell. "Kahtarina!" I yelled.
"Daniel! I need help!" I yelled.
Daniel ran over to us, and quickly picked up Kahtarina. He rushed her to the surgeons' quarters.
Angelique smith was there, and was concerned with Kahtarina's condition.
"I need everyone out." She said, calmly.
I sped walked to the hall, as she shut the door. I could hear Kahtarina scream in pain.
"Kat...ye are one lucky lass..."
