EIGHT; LAST FIRST KISS

"Do you ever wonder what we got ourselves into?" Bella asked her twin from the passenger seat of the truck.

"You think I would with how much free time I have on my hands." Cassadee sassed with a shrug. "It's not that big of a deal."

"They're vampires, Cass. They could kill us in less than a second."

Cassadee waved her hand at her sister. "I'm gonna die one day. I'd rather not think about how it'll happen."

There was a moments pause before Bella spoke again. "Would you want to be one?"

Cassadee furrowed her brows and glanced at her sister before looking back at the road. "Not at this moment. I enjoy sleeping, I don't know what I would do with myself if I couldn't. Plus, I don't want to give up bacon cheeseburgers just yet."

"Well if you and Jasper don't work you, you always have Mike." Bella said as Cassadee pulled into the diner and saw Mike hanging out with a few other guys from school.

"I swear he's everywhere." Cassadee sighed as she turned off the car and took the keys out of the ignition. She didn't have a problem with Mike, she had a problem with him always trying to find a way next to her in almost every situation possible.

"Maybe he's stalking you." Bella joked, resulting in Cassadee giving her an eye roll.

"If this wasn't such a small town I would believe it." The older Swan said as she got out of the truck.

"Arizona. What's happening?" Mike asked Cassadee before she was completely out of the vehicle. "So you and Hale, huh?" He asked after a couple seconds, not giving Cassadee the time to reply. "That's... I don't like it. I mean, I don't know, he just looks at you like you're something to eat." He finished when Cassadee turned to look at him as Bella went inside.

"Well fortunately, I never asked for your opinion." Cassadee smiled at Mike before going inside and taking a seat next to Bella and across from Charlie.

"What was that about?" Charlie asked as the waitress, Cora, set down the food in front of them.

"He's just trying to get involved in something completely irrelevant." Cassadee informed her father with a shrug.

"So, Chief, the boys wanna know." Cora said, her face and voice sad as the men behind her leaned in to listen. "Did you find anything down by Queets River today?"

Charlie looked around and sighed before speaking. "Yeah, we found a bare human footprint, but it looks like whoever that is, is headed east, so Kitsap County sheriff is gonna take over from here."

"I just hope they catch him fast." Cora said before walking away and the men going back to their conversations.

"Looks like your friends are flagging you." Charlie said as he looked outside. The twins turned to see Mike dancing in front of a tree outside. "It's okay if you wanna go join them." Charlie assured his daughters. "I'm just gonna turn in early anyway."

"Me too." Cassadee and Bella said in unison.

"Guys, it's Friday night. Go out. Looks like the Newton boy's gotta big smile for you, Cassie."

"He's a friend, Dad. I could literally never see him as anything more." Cassadee assured. It wasn't only because she was kind of dating Jasper, it was because Mike wasn't her type. Even though she didn't really have one, she just knew that Mike wasn't it.

"What about any of these other yahoos in town? Anybody interest you?" Charlie asked, looking between his daughters.

"Dad, are we really gonna talk about boys?" Bella asked.
