AUTHOR'S NOTE:
Whoa. Two updates in one day? I know. I'm like a f*ckin magician the way all these chapters keep magically appearing.. It'll prolly be the last chapter for a couple months again..but hey, sometimes writer's block just consumes me and I gotta start with new stuff. (Which, by the way, hasn't happened either) ANYWAY. I'm really trying.
But here's chapter seven.(: Enjoy.

Chapter Seven: Blurry
When the final bell rang, I was a little more then just relieved. Things between Aden and I were tense, and it was hard to escape those feelings when I had every single class with him. I was looking forward to just going home and doing homework. I’d never looked forward to doing any kind of work my entire life, but I was determined to do good this time around. Determined not to fuck everything up.
You’re not here to do that, I reminded myself. You’re in school to keep Aden safe. Violet could be right around the corner. For fuck’s sake, pay attention now and then.
“You ready?” Aden asked as he packed away his sketch book. The kids around us had already been ready to go by the time the bell rang, but Aden hadn’t rushed to finish his work
“Yeah,” I replied with a nod before following him out into the hallway and to our lockers.
I gathered all of my things, making sure I took the books I needed and my phone, before carefully closing my locker.
Teenagers scurried around us, eager to get to their cars and the buses. Their scents assaulted my control, pushing for me to give in and hunt everyone of them down to drain them dry.
“You okay?” Aden asked hesitantly.
My eyes flashed back to him to find that he was leaning against his locker with his bag, ready to go. “I’m fine,” I answered quickly, silently begging my aching gums to calm. “Let’s just get out of here. I’m ready to go home.”
He gave me an odd look, then shrugged his shoulders and headed for the stairs.
Maybe it isn’t such a good idea to be close to him, I thought as I hurried down the steps and into the parking lot. Maybe we should just be Guardian and human. I shouldn’t know about his personal life if it doesn’t put Aden in danger.
“Am I just dropping you off at your apartment?” Aden asked, holding the passenger door open for me.
I stared, shocked once again at his manners. “Um, yeah. Please.”
He pursed his lips in thought, his eyebrows pulling together and creating a crease in his forehead. “I thought you were supposed to stay with me all the time?” he said with a shy smirk.
“I’ll keep watch later tonight,” I told him as I moved around Aden’s frame to get in the car.
A frown pulled at the edges of his mouth. “Little vampire, is something going on?”
Stay cool, I told myself confidently. “No, of course not.”
My words weren’t as convincing as I’d hoped, but good enough for Aden to drop the subject. He closed the door carefully, and then ducked down into the drivers side and settled in.
“Are you sure you want to be here?” Aden’s voice was barely above a whisper as he asked his question, making even my ears strain to catch every word that left his lips. We were parked on my level of the apartment complex, but neither of us had moved for the doors.
