AUTHOR'S NOTE:
Whoa. I don't even think it's been a full week, and I've already uploaded another chapter. It's because I love you all. :D And because I just so happened to have an easy time writing this chapter. WHICH, by the way, doesn't happen as often as it should.
This chapter skips ahead a tiny bit in time, but not so much that you're missing a sh*t ton of information.
SO. Here's chapter eight. Enjoy.(:

Chapter Eight: They
Gage worked hard for weeks to recover the information Brooke had stolen. He hired a tech vamp to help, and whenever I went home both of them were there, working hard to fix the damage that had been done.
Then, towards the end of the school day after two weeks, I finally got the call.
“Your phones going off,” Aden said as he moved around me to grab a set of paints.
“I know, but we’re at school.” I picked at my nails indifferently while I silently watched Aden do what he loved. Paint.
“It could be important though,” he persisted.
I rolled my eyes with a smile. “Okay, if it’ll make you feel better I’ll answer it.” Glancing over my shoulder at the teacher, I carefully pulled out my buzzing phone, and accepted the call. It was Gage. “Hey, what’s going on?”
“I did it, babe. I fixed everything,” he told me triumphantly.
I grinned into the phone, earning myself a curious look from Aden. “I knew you could do it,” I murmured softly, trying my best not to make a scene.
“Brooke ended up stealing more info than we first thought, but once we caught on to her trail, we were able to recover everything.”
“That’s great, Gage. I’m really proud of you,” I said earnestly. “But I’ve got to let you go, we’re in the middle of class.”
“Oh,” he sounded disappointed, “I guess I forgot. I’ll talk to you later, or I’ll just see you at home.”
I nodded, even though I knew Gage wouldn’t see. “Okay, bye.”
The line went dead in response.
“What’s going on?” Aden asked, not bothering to look up from the sketch he was going over with in paint.
“You remember how I told you that Brooke stole some information?”
“Mhm,” he hummed.
“Well Gage got everything back.”
Aden stopped his painting to look up at me. “Really?” I nodded. “Wow, that didn’t take too long.”
With a shrug, I replied, “Only a couple of weeks.”
He opened his mouth to say something more, but was cut off by the sound of the final bell ringing.
“Alright everyone,” the teacher called out from the front of the room, clapping her hands together, “Next week is the art show, so make sure to enter at least one piece of your work. It will count towards your final grade.” Nervous chatter rose up at her words. “Have a good night class, I’ll see you all tomorrow.”
