Chapter 23: Leaving

"Mommy, no, no, no, no." Kate cried, tightly holding onto Skyla her hand.

I grabbed Kate from the ground, and she started screaming.

"Have a good time, love." I sighed, quickly pecking her lips.

"Are you sure you'll be okay taking care of all of them?" she questioned, I nodded.

"Yes! You do it all the time, how hard can it be?!" I exclaimed making her sigh.

"Take care. Make sure everyone goes to bed on time, make sure you eat healthy, make sure Liam won't get any chocolate. And just... Don't set the house on fire, please." she sighed making me smile.

"Sky, honey... We'll be fine." I said, Kate cried even harder.

I gently placed my arms around Skyla, and I kissed her hair.

"Remember to pay alot of attention to Kate." she whispered, I shortly nodded.

"Now go have some fun, and don't worry for a second." I said making her smile.

"Thank you."

"William?! No, no, no, no, don't touch your mother her makeup!" I yelled, the boy laughed.

"Felix, don't touch your mother her straightener?! Put that back!" I yelled, grabbing the hot device from his hands.

I then heard loud crying coming from Liam's room, he is trying to tell me he woke up.

I ran over to his room and I grabbed the little boy from his crib, only to hear crying come from downstairs.

"Dad's coming?!" I yelled, running down the stairs.

Lillian was crying, Felix was laughing.

"She fell off the couch, it looked really funny." Felix laughed pointing at his little sister.

I gently grabbed Lillian from the floor, and I tried to make both children in my arms stop crying.

"Daddy? Can we go play dolls together?" Kate asked shyly, I groaned.

"Kate, I don't know if you can see this, but I am extremely busy?!" I yelled, her eyes started to tear up.

She then ran upstairs, crying loudly.

How on earth does Skyla handle this, it is impossible?!

Luckily Lillian and Liam both already stopped crying after a minute so I could go upstairs and talk to Kate.

She had locked her door, the sound of crying was soft but very noticable.

"Kate? Sweetheart? Daddy wasn't serious, I was just being a meany. Let's talk about it, together."  I sighed, knocking on the door.

No reply.

"Kate? Open this door now." I sighed, knocking more harshly.

No reply.

"Kate, I'll go play dolls or something you'd like with you. But only if you open the door." I sighed, knocking for the last time.

No reply, but the door opened.

I immediately walked into the room, and I kneeled down in front of the crying girl.

"Hey Kate... Would you maybe like to do something together? Like a father-daughter bonding thing, I'll let you pick." I said, she looked up from her hands.
