Snoke smiled at the bubbly twins, watching them run around the yard, chasing each other happily, laughing, smiling, giggling. The sight almost made him jealous, but, then again, who wasn't? Rey was screeching joy, looking back over her shoulder as she ran away from her brother. Her braided chestnut brown hair floated in the wind as she ran on her little, pudgy feet, padding quickly against the sand. "They're beautiful, Luke," Snoke smiled, reaching down to swoop two-year-old Kylo Solo into his arms. "I can see why it was so hard for your sister to let them go."
Luke stood behind him, his arms crossed in disapproval. He tried to keep his Force aura calm, but deep beneath, anger boiled like a hot pot of water. He came forward, picking up Rey and putting distance between him and Snoke once again. "Let's stop dodging around business, shall we, Snoke?""Master Skywalker, I never knew you were one for business! Must we go straight to problems?"
"I am much too busy to leisurely walk around the problems at hand. And we made an agreement. This isn't how things are supposed to be. This is my Order and things will be run as I was taught. Just think, Snoke! There is no value to these new beliefs you have developed! There is no worth to your words, no legitimacy to what you now think. Trust me, Snoke.. You don't know what you're talking about."Snoke smiled, shifting the boy in his arms. He snorted at his friend, the one who had trained him. Now, he was just like the crazy masters who had trained him. "Master Skywalker, let us think this through and take a look at both views. I see where you are coming from. I understand why you see your father as a monster, after what he did to your sister, to you-"
"I do not see my father as a monster!" Luke harshly interjected, handing Rey to one of the nearby students, Korr Sella, and began to approach his wayward student, shaking his head in profound disappointment. "Snoke, you don't understand. Where did I fail so badly with you that you see things this-"
"But, Master, you're not listening to me. There has to be some worth to Palpatine and Vader's words and beliefs if so many have gone down such a path. Perhaps, it's not as shadowed as we think it is. Perhaps, the path we must take is not as black and white as you wish it to be. Sith, Jedi, we both are very different, but don't you think we should be able to come to some understanding? There has to be a more peaceful way to end this war!"
"Maybe you are right, Snoke. Maybe it would benefit you to do your own research, but I refuse to let you take my students with."Snoke turned to the assembled students, the group he and Luke had created together. They watched him with careful eyes, all seemingly uneasy and nervous. "What do you think, huh?" he asked them. "Korr?"
"No, Ren," she said, using his first name, for a man she'd once loved. She held little Rey Solo protectively in her arms, shielding her from Snoke, from the man's lunatic ideals. "This isn't the way. You were here when Master Skywalker taught us. Anakin Skywalker turned back to the light side in the end. He came back to the right side."
"What about Plagueis? Vader? Sidious? They all knew something beyond us, they understood the dark side, saw it for all its beauty and glory! Master Skywalker, if you so wish to protect your sister's children, you must understand that we're trying to fight the wrong foe!""No, Ren. Snoke. Whoever you are now. You do not belong here with my other students. You must leave now."
"Ren is my dark side name," Snoke growled, turning on the crowd. "And I must now go by it to fully understand what you all have yet to see. If any of you wish to see true light, come with me." He marched off, hastily, his long cape floating behind him as he neared his transport. And at least a dozen of the students followed in his wake.
"Master," Korr cried. "He still has Kylo."Luke whirled around and heard Rey crying, pointing in the direction Snoke had gone. "Bwatha!" she screamed, tears running down her cheeks. "Ky-o!"
OoO
His ship screamed as it hit hyperspace, passing meteors, stars, watching them all turn into streaks as they flew by. Snoke took one last look outside the viewport before turning back to his new crew. He performed a brief mental scan, looking over each student who had followed him, their abilities, strength, weaknesses. "Thank you all for joining me," he addressed them after he was done assessing them. "Today is a day of rejoicing. I tell you, we are onto our own path and I am truly thrilled to blaze it with you all. Let us call ourselves the . . . the Knights of Ren."
