Warmth in New York

It was midnight in New York City and it was as alive as ever. People out and about, cars honking, sirens wailing in the distance. However, through a window, there was a young lady with blonde hair and stormy gray eyes studying into the deep of the eventful night.

"If the columns had a diameter of twenty-three then..." Annabeth mumbled as she was looking over blue prints.

Her desk faced toward the ceiling-to-floor window and it overlooked the living city. The top of her desk was covered with office supplies of every kind. Annabeth was holding a gray-stained wooden pencil and every once a while she would place it in the depth of her messy bun as she thought on new ideas. Too intently focused on her schoolwork, she didn't realize that a young man with sea green eyes had entered her apartment.

"Always the hard worker." The young adult muttered when he saw the woman.

The man with the raven black hair shook his head in amusement as he saw the blonde. Steps like feathers, he walked carefully toward the girl. She didn't break her focus on the papers in front of her. When he got close enough, he circled his arms around her from behind.

"Hey Wise Girl." Percy said while he nestled his head into her neck.

Annabeth didn't even react to his touch, still wandering the land of arithmetic and architecture.

Percy sighed, "I guess I'm going to have to do this the hard way."

In a second, he started to tickle his beloved. His fingers expertly knew where to go on her body to be able to gain a reaction from his girlfriend. Usually, this skill was applied in a different atmosphere on a bed.

For now though, it would be used as tickling.

"Percy! What are you- Ah! Stop!" Annabeth yelled as she was laughing without break.

Percy's fingers flew around Annabeth's torso, tickling her until her sides hurt and the smile that was on her face became permanent.

"Perseus!" She yelled as her last hope from her attacker.

Percy finally subdued his attack on the blonde who's face was a burning red.

"You are such a Seaweed Brain!" exclaimed an extremely annoyed Annabeth.

"Annabeth, you've been studying for eight hours, you need to take a break." Percy said with worry laced into his tone, but with adornment in his sea green orbs.

Annabeth ran her hand through her messy and unbrushed hair. "I can't Percy, I have so much work to do and there is still that exam in Humanity I still have to study for. I still don't understand why I have to take a Humanity course when I'm majoring in architecture. It's not like I have enough work to do! And di immortals that professor-"

She stopped rambling when Percy suddenly pulled her into a sweet, loving kiss. The unknown tension she had flowed easily out of her. Annabeth's arms circled around Percy's neck while his stayed firm at her waist. The noise from the outside world seemed to die out when their lips connected. For a few minutes, there was just Percy and Annabeth.

Just two lovers in the night in each others embrace.

"Yeah, maybe you're right. I should take a break." Annabeth admitted with reluctance.

"What's that? Is The Annabeth Chase saying that I, Percy Jackson, is right?" Percy said with a playful tone.

"Shut up."said an annoyed Annabeth along with an impeccable eye roll.

Percy just smiled at this comment, it was times like this that made him happy. His and Annabeth small bickers was what made them who they were. He wouldn't trade that for anything. The blonde student ambled to her desk that over looked the city of New York. She started to put away her things, but her hands started to slightly shake. Even with that kiss, she was still worried. Percy walked over to where Annabeth was and started to rub comforting circles on her back.

"Hey, you will do fine. You are the smartest person I know and you can always succeed in whatever you choose to do. That stupid professor will never be able to comprehend the wondrous things you have done for me, the world. "

"Thanks Percy, you don't know how much that meant to me. These past few weeks have been hard." She said as she kissed Percy on his cheek.

Percy had a faint smile from the peck.A warmth grew in chest because he made his girlfriend happy. And he would continue on doing that.

"Annabeth, I'm going to cook some food for us. Why don't you rest?" Percy said as he walked to the small kitchen in the corner.

Staring into the back of his raven black hair, Annabeth was also filled with the warmth. Forever would she be glad that Perseus Jackson was there for her.
