All rights go to Rick Riordan. Sorry, this might be ooc.

I WROTE THIS AT 3 IN THE MORNING SO I ACTUALLY DON'T KNOW WHAT WAS GOING THROUGH MY HEAD.

An after Tartarus Oneshot

It was dark in Percy's room on the Argo II. He laid awake on his small single bed, staring at the ceiling yearning for sleep but was too afraid to get.

Because as soon he fell asleep, a dream would come. A dream about him and Annabeth surviving in Tartarus. Some nights, they would both be alive when the nightmare ended. Other nights, Percy would desperately try to wake up. On those nights Annabeth would've died right in front of his face, her lifeless figure being held in his hands.

Images flashed through his mind of that place. The horrors and everything that tried to kill them both. Percy could never get these thoughts out of his mind, so there he was breathing rapidly on his bed trying to forget.

To forget.

But forgetting a place like Tartarus is virtually impossible and Percy knew it. Annabeth and him have never really been the same. He originally thought that he had it worst since everybody down there wanted to kill him, but Annabeth? Every single day she would have this nervousness beneath her stormy grey eyes. She was afraid of making decisions or doing something wrong. Percy was worried for her but he didn't know how to approach her about it. He was never the one good at be social.

'Ugh, so much thinking.'

He sat up in his bed and ruffled his hand through his hair.

'Maybe a glass of water would help?' Percy thought.

He lifted his legs off his bed and walked towards the kitchen to get some water but for some reason his feet didn't take him there.

Percy was now standing in front of Annabeth Chase's door. His brain told him he shouldn't go to her room during the night, what would the others think? He sighed and turned around toward the direction of the kitchen. Then Percy halted to a stop.

He doesn't care what the others would think. He needs Annabeth, so he abruptly turned around and open the door. He expected to just find his love of his life just sleeping there as if everything was normal but, that wasn't the case. Annabeth was just as awake as he was.

She was there in her Camp Half-Blood t-shirt and pajama shorts. Her clothes were wrinkly and her hair was sticking up but all Percy saw was a gorgeous goddess. The daughter of Athena was on the bed, leaning against the headboard with her knees drawn toward her chest.

"What are you doing here Percy?" The blonde questioned.

Percy closed the door behind him. "I couldn't sleep." He admitted and sat down on the bed but not to close to make her uncomfortable. "And it looks that you weren't able to either."

She replied without emotion, "Yeah, I just wasn't feeling well."

"Annabeth, we both know that isn't true. Please just talk to me." Percy reached for her hand, but Annabeth quickly pulled away.

"Percy, stop worry about me! I'm not some fragile doll!" Annabeth said with anger and annoyance.

Percy looked down, anyone could tell that he was clearly hurt by Annabeth's remark.

Annabeth sighed and pulled her hair back. "I-I'm sorry. I just hate feeling weak, like that place took my everything. I'm such a failure. I-"

Percy looked her straight in the eye, "Annabeth Chase, you are not a failure and you are definitely not weak."

He scooted a bit closer to her.

"You are the most strongest, bravest person I have ever met and I'm glad we were always together."

He scooted even closer.

"You are a gorgeous, brilliant person who is probably smarter than the rest of us put together."

He was now so close, close enough to feel and hear her breathing.

"And I have no idea what I would've done without you, so please Annabeth, never see yourself as weak. You are the exact opposite."

Annabeth legs were now on the bed and were no longer by her chest. Percy hovered over her and closed the gap kissing her sweetly.

Percy would've stayed in that position forever but Annabeth drew back. She smiled to him.

"An even bigger idiot." Annabeth said.

Percy eyebrows scrunched together. "Huh?"

"You, Seaweed Brain, would have been an even bigger Seaweed Brain without me."

"Hey!"

They both laughed and just laid there in each other arms, finally feeling at rest. They weren't complete unless they were with each other.

"And Percy?"

"Yeah Wise Girl?"

"When you want to come in my room in the middle of night to kiss me, brush your teeth next time."

Percy's face started to turn shades of red with embarrassment. "Just go to sleep already!"

Annabeth cuddled more into Percy's chest and smiled. They made it out together, and they were here together. What else more could she want?

And when she snuggled into Percy, he looked at her adoringly. This can make him forget.
