Welcome to My Boring Life

I side jumped a trash can on the side walk as I sprinted down the busy street. My sisters birthday was today, and I had remembered that we were going to meet at a restaurant downtown...The only problem was that I had forgotten presents. Hence, me being late, hence the running.

I pretty much skidded to a stop in front of the cafe/bakery that we were meeting at. I used the large window as a mirror and adjusted my white T-Shirt to be in line with my black jeans. I quickly ran my fingers through my fiery orange hair and reached for the door. I must have been a bit nervous because the door magnetized and flew past my hand and smacked me in the face. I have some electrical;y based powers that I can't always control. Obviously or I wouldn't have hit myself in the face with the door. After stumbling backwards a few paces, I regained my balance and dodged into the cafe/bakery.

Even though I lived in Michigan, the cafe felt very French (not that I would know, I'd never been to France). Though, I figured, since it had french music on, it was probably French.

She was sitting in the far corner of the room, fondling her light pink hair. She was talking to the waiter in, what seemed, like a pleasant conversation. Now, you should know that there's nothing I excel at more than ruining pleasant conversations that my sister is having.

I ungracefully rammed into the chair opposite of her, nearly spilling her Cappuccino, fancy, valley girl thing.

"Tanner! What the heck?!" Her hair turned more red than mine( On a side note, my sister also has special abilities, such as her hair and eyes turn different colors to match her mood). She turned a beady eye on me, and the waiter behind us nearly dropped his tray at the sudden change of color.

"What do you think you're doing?! You almost spilled my coffee! Oh, and you're late." The waiter shifted his feet awkwardly,

"Ok, so I'm just gonna go," He said.

"Ok, maybe talk to you later Jesper?" She said, putting on her nice face.

"Yeah, sure, maybe," Jesper said as he left. She gave me a death glare and kicked me under the table.

"Ow, what?" I said.

"We were having a nice conversation and you had to come and ruin it!" she loudly whispered. I mentally fist pumped, mission accomplished.

"And why are you late? " she continued.

"Ah, about that, well...um...nothing much , just some distractions, and stuff with things. On a totally unrelated topic, do you want me to give you your presents now or later?" Yeah, that was so smooth. I really have a way with words. She sighed and gave me a funny look.

"What?" I asked.

"Well, I have lived with you for three years, but sometimes I still get surprised by your Irish accent. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised by it any more though." She reflected as her hair started phasing into a normal brown color.

"Yeah, I suppose not," I said. She looked amused.

"No, I should be more surprised by your butt ugly face, coming through the door."

"Oh ouch! May I point out that I am your brother?"

"Adopted brother," She paused, "More like adopted atrocity." She smirked at me.

"Ha ha, your hilarious," I said, leaning back in my chair. She grinned at me and her hair started turning and amused gold color. I sighed and reached under my chair to grab her presents. We enjoyed each others company as we ate pastries and drank caffeinated dirt. I mean, it wasn't really dirt, but that's what coffee tastes like to me. We also got a lot of startled looks whenever Addison's hair turned colors. I think I even heard a waiter drop a tray. I hoped it was the pretty boy she was talking to earlier.

I had gotten her some fall smelling perfume, a Captain America poster, tickets to a violent movie, and a blue rose. She really seemed to like the poster and the movie tickets. My sister is funny that way. She is not really a tomboy, but not a prissy girl either.

"Well, happy birthday Addison." I said, relaxing with my hands behind my head.

"Thanks Tanner. It was a really great birthday." She looked up from her presents and smiled at me, her hair and eyes matching in a contented maroon color. Whenever anyone asked about her hair, we told them that our dad was a scientist and was developing a new type of hair dye, but it still had a few kinks to work out, so no selling it to anybody yet. Most people seemed to believe that.

We chilled for the rest of the day, walking around town, going to that movie (she loved it by the way), pranking people with our powers (magnetizing doors shut, making peoples keys come "alive", my sister "stalking" people by teleporting near and far, another one of her abilities, and doing other things like that) shocking people, lightly of course, whenever they stepped on the graits, as well as any other evil thing we could think of. All in all, not a bad way to end the weekend. Before we head back to prison, I mean school, heh heh, yeah school.
