"WAKE UP COPPERTOP, IT'S TIME FOR SCHOOL!" I'm pretty certain that a demon possessed parrot was screeching in my ear, and I'm also pretty sure that I jumped three feet in the air. My heart was doing it's best impression of an african drum and I was breathing like I had just finished the 100 yard dash. Later, I realized that Addison had woken me up, but right now, that didn't really matter. What mattered is that I was falling off the bed! I hit the floor with an "Ughnf" and just kinda laid there for a few seconds, groaning. Nothing like a slow, peaceful morning to get your day started.

Breakfast was uneventful, the walk to the bus station was uneventful, the bus ride was uneventful and the first class of school was...wait for it...uneventful. The next 3 classes were also uneventful, although in Chemistry, I was able to give my partner a shave...and by shave I mean that I accidentally on purpose put in a wrong solution and it blew up in his face and burned away his nose hairs, eye lashes, eyebrows and almost started his stupid looking hair on fire. Ya, oops. It might be important to note that he was a frat boy with a crush on my sister. Yeah, not ok. Thank everything good in this world that she didn't have the hots for him or I may have gone and dug myself a hole...and died of shame.

Every other class of the day was otherwise uneventful, with the exception of the passing period. That's when I met the pretty boy from the cafe, oh, what was his name? Jesper! That's what his name was. Yeah, I found out that he just moved and was going to the same school as us. Yay, another boy to pry away from Addison. I had heard from pretty much everyone in school that she was one of the most beautiful girls they had ever seen, but I just couldn't allow myself to think like that. She was my sister and that would be just weird if I thought that.

I wasn't able to make my "Please halp me I'm dying" face as I passed one of her classes but she made up for it by doing it in one of mine. I smiled but that was it, unless I wanted to get in trouble.

My sister and I usually walk home from school instead of ride the bus. I think we do it so we can enjoy being outside, even when it's really cold. I was waiting for her outside when I saw a tall dark figure across the lawn. It was just standing there, looking at me. Whoever I was was wearing a long trench coat and a really British looking hat with his back to the sun. Shadows covered his face so I couldn't make out any features. I was about to go investigate when I heard footsteps coming up behind me. I jumped around and found myself facing prettyboy again. I glanced back at where the figure had been but he wasn't there anymore. Creepy. I turned back to pretty boy.

"Oh, uh, hey man. How's it going?" I asked, regretting talking to him the moment I heard the words come out of my mouth. I don't know why I don't like him, he seems like an ok guy. He isn't arrogant, he is a good student, he's not a frat boy and best of all, he's not some dumb jock. Not that all jocks are dumb, I'm Irish not racist.

"Hey, didn't I see you with Addison in the cafe yesterday?" He asked, grabbing hold of his backpack straps.

"Uh, yeah, yeah that was us. She just turned 17 and she said that she wanted a family birthday party." I looked around for any sign that Addison was coming. No such luck.

"What about your parents?" He asked

"Well, they were busy so I took care of it." I shifted feet.

"Oh, ok. Wait, how old are you?" Jesper asked.

"17," I said. He looked confused.

"How does that work? Are you guys twins or something?" He asked. I tried really hard not to physically roll my eyes.

"No we aren't twins. I'm adopted." Understanding dawned in his eyes.

"Oh, that makes so much more sense. I though that you guys looked alike about as much as a hippo looks like an octopus." I decided to ignore the several fat and ugly jokes I could make at both Addison's and my own expense. Jesper seemed to notice something over my shoulder. I in the process of turning around when something bulldozed me. I stumbled forward, nearly loosing my balance.

"Well, hello Addison." I strained, "Good to see you too."

"No, it's not. I was just trying to make you fall over." She said climbing off of me.

"Oh, feel the love," I said sarcastically.

"Oh, hey Jesper, we were just about to walk home. Care to walk with us?" she invited. I mentally murdered her in her sleep.

"Uh, yeah sure, I guess. I mean, if it's in the same direction." He said, shrugging.

"Ok great, let's go then." I said as I started walking.

"Hey, wait up you soulless freak!" She insulted me.

"Well walk faster. If you were to race against a slug, it would win,"I shouted over my shoulder. Her hair turned a playful pink.

"Ha ha, you're hilarious! Well you wouldn't be able to beat a tree in a one-legged race!" she shouted back." and thus, we insulted each other all the way home with Jesper awkwardly following.

We reached Jesper's house first. We dropped him off, said our farewells and headed on our way. After leaving Jesper's, we stopped insulting each other and just walked in silence. It was a nice spring day. The birds were chirping, only 2 months till school was out and I was day dreaming about how I was going to make some certain boys in class suffer. All in all life was really good. Until mom found out that there was a new kid and she insisted on inviting them and their family to dinner. Whoopie...I loved meeting new people.
