~Allison's P.O.V~

Lunch time, once again. Favorite time of the day. Nice place where I can be alone. Luckily, I didn't forget my money this morning. If I forgot it then I'd pretty much starve until the dinner with Collin's family. I'm starting to think that if I were to break my 'No friends' rule, it would only be for one person. Collin. He has been nothing but nice to me, and he doesn't seem like an idiot like the rest of this school. But I'm not sure if I can trust him... I don't trust other people. Its my number one rule. 'Trust NO ONE'. He'll have to do something really fucking fantastic for me to trust him.

"Buttercup?" Carmen said, trying to get my attention.

"Oh, hey Carmen." I said, snapping back into reality.

"Hey, Allison." Collin said from beside me, making me jump a little.

"God damn it, Collin! You scared me!"

"Sorry." he chuckled.

"Buttercup, you have your money today? Or is really cute guy named Collin gonna pay for you?" she winked at me.

"Carmen!" I started to blush as Collin laughed.

"Yeah, buttercup. Am I gonna have to pay for you?" Collin said, mocking the nick name that only Carmen is allowed to call me.

"You're not allowed to call me that. Only Carmen is. And, yes, I actually have my money today."

"Surprise, surprise." Carmen said as I handed her my money, and Collin did the same. We were about to walk off, until I remembered something.

"Oh, and Carmen? I cant stay after school with you today."

"What? Why not? Its Chris's fault, isn't it? Is that why you have that scratch on your lip? Do I have to go over there? I swear to god if he laid a finger on you I will kick his sorry ass."

"Carmen, no. I'm going with Collin to his house for dinner." I assured her softly.

"Oh." she blushed in embarrasment. "Wait... so you guys are dating now?" she smirked.

Me and Collin shouted at the same time, "NO WE'RE NOT DATING!" then we looked at each other, surprised we said the same thing.

"Oh. Well, you should." Carmen smirked.

"Good bye, Carmen." I walked away feeling embarrassed.

"I have a question." Collin announced as we sat at my table.

"Then ask it."

"Why was that lunch lady telling us to date?"

"Oh.. Carmen? She use to be my mom's best friend. She use to babysit me and my bother all the time. She's honestly my only friend. That was before... before they... uh.."

"Died...?"

"Yeah." I sighed.

The only thing that could make me cry was my dead mother and brother, and my abusive father. Memories of good times, and then now. Things have changed so much since they were alive... I miss them so much. Collin's thumb came in contact with my face, wiping a tear away. I pulled my face away and stared down at the ground.

"Allison, its okay to cry." his hand landed around my shoulders. I looked up at him, surprised that he was trying to comfort me. The last people who have ever done that for me were my mom and Dylan, my brother.

"Collin, I'm fine." I whispered, rubbing he tears from off my face. He didn't seem like he believed my lie, but I don't care. I just don't want to talk about it.
