Lost and Found

Chapter 2: Back to Berk

"So this is what Berk looks like." Rapunzel says, observing the mass of beefy people in armor and furs, carrying buckets or weapons close to themselves as the dragons fly freely over head, trying to see what's in the baskets.

"Yep. Can't really say I didn't miss this place." I sigh. "Come on guys. Let's go see my dad. And hope that we don't run into my old group." I say as I start heading down the road, ducking occasionally for mischievous dragons.

As we walk, I can hear people whispering.

"Who are they?"
"Is that Hiccup?"
"No that can't be..."
"Why does he look so familiar?"
"That's Hiccup!" 
"Is it really him?"
"It is! It's Hiccup!"

Soon people are clapping me on the back and cheering my name but I keep my face as expressionless as possible.

"Hey Hiccup are you alright?" Merida asks as her and the gang start to walk closer to me so we don't get separated.

"Yeah. I'm fine." I said bluntly and they back off.

After suffering through about and hour of whispering we finally make it to the town meeting house.

"Okay so what do we do now?" Jack asks as I stop.

"Maybe this is a bad idea. We should just stand here staring at the door for a while. No better yet we should leave I mean, my dad's probably really busy talking about something extremely important like dragon racing or fish or-"

"Hiccup! You ramble when your nervousness lad. Now come on. It can't be that bad." Merida says, putting her hands on my shoulders. Normally I would be fangirling in my head but... Nope. Still kinda fangirling

I take a deep breathe and raise my hand as if to knock then I back out. "Sorry guys. I can't do this." Just as I turn around and make it about five feet the door opens.

"Hiccup? Is that you?" A voice asks and I freeze.

I turn back around very slowly. "Yeah. Hey dad." I said awkwardly.

His eyes light up. "Hiccup!" He then rushes over to me and envelops me in bone crushing hug.

I hug him back hesitantly. "Hi dad." I whisper, shocked and both a little heartbroken. I have to say that I missed him a lot.

"Hiccup. Where have you been?" My dad asks me, pulling away as he rapidly blinks back tears.

I rub the back of my neck nervously. "Saving the world?" I ask questioningly.

My dad just looks at me for a while the he throws his head back and laughs, surprising us all.

"I have no doubt about it. Now who are your friends?" He asks me trying to stop laughing.

"This is Rapunzel Corona." I point to the golden blonde and she nods her head.

"Jack Frost." I point to the white haired dork and he shows off his trademark grin and says "Sup".

"And this is-"

"Merida Dunbrock! I remember you. But I must say I thought you guys would be married by now." Dad says, interrupting me.

Me and Merida both blush as Jack and Rapunzel laugh quietly at us.

"So anyway. We must go to the house. Your mother will be extremely happy to see that your back son." Dad said as he claps me on the back and turns me to the way to our house.
