My heart stops and everything slows down. My hearing fades away.Mom runs to me, followed by dad. Both of them run slow, so slow it take them a full minute in my mind to reach me. Mom throws her arms around me, Using all her strength to pull me to her. My lips part in surprise when dad picks us both up, burying his face in my hair. My eyes close tightly, but still, the frozen tears I had been trying to keep in escape. I never knew how much I missed them until this moment.
Dad lays his hand on my head, touching my cold soft platinum blonde braid. They both shiver, feeling the familiar cold leak from my body, but still they hold tight.
Then everything speeds back up and my hearing is back.
Mom cries my name as if her hearts been ripped out and dad shudders with tearless sobs.
"Oh Elizabeth, my baby girl." dad says in a hushed, shuddering tone.
Mom pulls her head back and kisses every inch of my face frantically. She makes little noises in the back of her throat as she does so.
"Elizabeth, my little Elizabeth!" she cries. Dad puts us down but mom still clings to me.
I wrap trembling arms around her small frame. Her Auburn hair tickles my cheek but I don't care. This feels nice. It feels nice to be held by someone who loves you. I feel safe and secure.
"Hey mommy." I whisper. She whimpers and holds into me tighter.
. . . . . . . . . .
I smile. They look so happy. Even Elsa. I told her she wouldn't regret this.
Jack claps me in the shoulder. "You did good. She looks happy."
I watch as mom lets Elsa go and dad picks her up three feet off the ground, hugging her to him win all his might. Elsa wraps her arms around his neck and buried her face in his long brown hair.
"Papa." Elsa whimpers and dad closes his eyes, tears finally escaping.
"I'm here. I'm here, baby. I'm never leaving you again." he shudders. "Never again, baby girl."
"She does, doesn't she?" I say, my smile widening.
Finally, dad sets her down, but doesn't let go of her hand.
Elsa wipes her tears away on her sleeve as mom grabs Elsa's head in both her hands. She looks at her with a radiant smile. "Oh, my baby has grown up. You were six the last time I saw you, before that," she trembles with fury. "That dragon took your away from us." then her brows furrow and she steals glances at Blitz. "And if I recall, it looked exactly like that," she points to Blitz, her eyes flaming. "That dragon!"
My eyes widen. I've never seen her act like this. Never seen her hate a dragon. Hell, I've never seen her hate anything at all.
Mom starts stomping towards Blitz but Elsa grabs her wrist. "No!" she looks at Blitz with wide, frantic eyes. "No, it wasn't Blitz who kept me away! I chose to stay!"
Mom and dad flinch.
Elsa looks down in shame and shakes her head. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean for it to come out like that. It's just-" she takes a deep breath. Mom comes back and takes Elsa's hands in her own. Both mom and dad look at her with concern. "Elizabeth?"
Elsa gulps. "Look. I... I didn't want to come here. The only reason I did, is because Hiccup insisted."
"Why, baby girl?" mom asks, hurt written all over her face.
"I... I fear I don't have much time to live." she looks up to me for support. I nod.
"And Hiccup thought it best if I came here. To see you both, give you some peace of mind. But I was afraid to come back. I didn't want to have to hide anymore." a tear slips down her face.
