Ashton whimpered as the security guards pulled him through the station. He whined as he was pushed into a room. "Sit," The guard snapped.
Ashton frowned slightly. He sat down on one of the benches, looking around. The room was filled with grey haired women and men, probably those who were on their last journey too.
But in the corner of the room, one of the men stood out.
Ashton stood up slowly, staring at the blue eyed boy who sat hunched over in the corner of the room. "Luke?" He whispered.
Luke looked up, smiling weakly. "Hi Ashy," He croaked.
"What are you doing here?" Ashton asked, sitting down next to Ashton.
"Got fired, caught the train a few times, here I am," Luke whispered, smiling weakly.
The security guard walked back into the room. "Here's how it's going to go down, you're going to get on the train. If you try and escape from the train, you will be shot. Either way, it's going to be a quick death."
"Luke, you were supposed to live forever," Ashton whispered.
"I didn't want to live without you," Luke replied.
"About ten minutes into the trip, the train will fill with gas. It'll make you remember every asset of your life. And then, your life is over. So let's get on the train," The guard finished.
Luke struggled to get up. He slowly made his way towards the train.
"You, with the curly hair, stay here," The guard snapped, grabbing Ashton. Luke began to deliberately walk slower, trying to listen in on the conversation.
"We were recently informed that you were supposed to be the worker of 2006. Now that that position has been vacated, we are letting you into it," The guard said. Luke froze.
"I'll take that position," Ashton replied. Luke's eye's widened. He grabbed Ashton, pulling him onto the train.
"What are you doing!" Ashton yelled, his body slowly changing back to the way it was when he was twenty one. "Just because you chose to die doesn't mean I can't take my chance to live!"
"We go together or we don't go down at all," Luke growled, kissing Ashton.
Ashton's eyes widened. He pushed Luke away from him, moving away from the train. "You betrayed me Luke. And this is just my way of returning the favour," he said, watching as the doors closed and the train pulled away from the station.
