Willow's POV
The rest of the day dragged on.
I skipped lunch afraid that I wouldn't be able to handle myself in a room full of people, but I'll have to eventually, so I'll try tomorrow. Every thing was so boring. I mean I missed the learning, but goodness I don't see how humans do it, but now I'm in Phys ED and I think this is going to be fun.
The coach's whistle shrilled and everyone winced. My hearing is too sensitive for this.
I was in a pair of shorts and a plain t-shirt. My ivory skin was blinding in the sunlight.
"Alright ladies, lets get this started. We are going to start with a simple race. From here to the end of the bleachers," She barked and pointed her finger in the direction we were supposed to run. Easily done. Everyone groaned.
"Guys against guys, girls against girls, then all together," She blew her whistle again and the guys lined up.
I stood over to the side hoping not to be conversed with. Someone was bragging about skills that I was starting to doubt that she had.
She was very tall and lean, with light brown hair up in a pony tail. Her face was long and resembled a horse.
"I bet no one here could beat me in this race," She squeaked un-lady like. I snickered at her misplaced confidence, but she heard me.
"You think you could beat me newbie?" Her cocky tone rubbed me the wrong way and I had to hold back a growl.
"Yes," Was all I said with a small smile.
"Looks like someone is a little bit cocky," She scoffed, and I rolled my eyes at the irony, "Fine if you win I'll do your homework until midterms," She smirked. "If I win you do mine," I nodded once at the terms. The guys got back and the word of our little competition spread like wild fire.
The chatter of people saying 'She could never beat Hannah,' and 'Who does she think she is?' made me hungrier than I have ever been, but the horse girl, now with the name of Hannah, was soaking up all of the attention.
"Alright girls into position," The coach yelled. Hannah acted like she was in the Olympics and I got into a running stance awaiting the whistle. Once it shrilled I took off. I wasn't even going at full speed and I passed everyone within a milisecond. I made it to the end and leaned against the wall. It took all of them about 15 seconds to get to my position.
Hannah reached me and huffed.
"You had a head start," She hissed. I shrugged.
"Looks like I'm homework free until midterms," I said with a smirk. I stretched out my arms and strode back to the starting line. I felt someones eyes on me and looked up. The guy named Aj was looking at me with a happy grin. I cocked an eyebrow shrugging off the feeling of confusion.
Everyone started back to the starting line and guys were eating their hearts out at me and my gym shorts. My stomach growled in enthusiasim as we felt a new presence.
The girls giggled as Grey walked by in a pair of gym shorts and I tight gray t-shirt. He smiled politley at all the girls and locked his eyes on me, making me look away in embarassment. I felt something in my chest that I couldn't describe. A longing feeling that I wish would just disappear. It made me feel things I had tried to get rid of since I first became a Reaper.
"Mr. Henderson, you're late," The coach barked at him, He smiled an awkward smile and rubbed the back of his neck with a laugh.
"Sorry coach, I was helping a girl to the infirmary," He offered as an excuse for tardiness. When the coach gave a skeptical look he gave her the written excuse from the nurse.
