Willow

The next couple of weeks were quite hectic. I had no control over what happened, and believe me I hate not having control over a situation. At school Grey never left my side and he wasn't as playful and relaxed as he was the first day we met. He had come over quite a few times to help me pack; he would be normal Grey then, but other than that he always had a defensive air around him in public making his aura sour others. It wasn't the most pleasant thing to be around, but it did help my cravings simmer down.

He was always on guard and for some reason it bugged me. It shouldn't because I'm always on guard in public, but I can at least act like everything is hunky dory.

On the bright side Aj hasn't tried anything. Yes, I'm stuck with him in some of my classes and he sits next to me in my math class, but he has made a point to ignore me.

He turns away when I speak or ask a question, when I ask for a pencil he pretends he doesn't hear me, and when we are assigned as partners he does his share of the work and I do mine then he combines the work to make the finished product.

The atmosphere around him was always either angry or aggravated. I could see the bitter aura infecting the others. It soured every ones' mood.

I don't know if it was me or some werewolf problem, but Grey has changed a lot since the beginning of the year. He was all laid back and playful and now he never has a playful moment. He is always so serious with me, but I'm pretty sure he is the same with his friends. I guess it's the alpha part coming out to protect his 'Mate'.

The only time I got to myself is after he would drop me off. Then after he left I would go hunting. If I don't hold back on the criminals I eat I'll have to settle for people here. I'll have to prey on innocent people and that is the last thing I want.

The bell screeched in my ears and Aj slammed his book shut and stormed out of the classroom. I stuffed my books into my book bag and pulled myself out of my chair.

Hazel pranced over to my side and Seth followed close on her heels.

"Whats wrong with him?" She asked popping her gum. I shrugged walking out of the door and she followed. I made my way to my locker.

"So, are you ladies gonna make it to the party Friday?" Seth asked leaning against the locker next to mine looking at both of us suggestively.

"What's today?" I asked absentmindedly throwing in my math book and grabbing my English and Biology book.

"Tuesday," Hazel said nodding her head, "Yeah pretty sure it's Tuesday."

I glared at her playfully, "I meant the date smart ass," I rolled my eyes leaning against my locker.

"Tuesday, October 27th." Seth chuckled ruffling Hazel's hair like she was a naughty child.

"So that would make Friday the 30th," I mumbled under my breath.

"Awww! Willow can do math! I'm so proud of you." Hazel teased pinching my pale white cheek adding no color whatsoever.

Damn, I'm moving into the pack house soon and if I skip out on the party they will wonder where I'm gonna go. Think Willow Think.

"I actually have family coming to visit me. I'll have to take a rain check, but I may make it a little bit later," I said lying through my teeth, but I knew that the lie that fell on living things ears would be believed. Hazel narrowed her eyes at me, but only for a moment. This time I was going to get as long as allowed.

I saw the suspicion on Hazel's face, but I wasn't worried. She wouldn't interrupt me this time, she'd be at the party.

The bell rang and we all droned on cue. My teenage tendencies are coming back and my inner death chuckled.
