The next morning I am awoken by Sapphire. "Babe...babe!" I hear her say. I jolt up "What's wrong? Are you okay? Is the baby okay? Wha-" I start as Sapphire grabs my hand "you need to feel this" she says then places my hand on her belly. I'm confused until I feel the baby move. I get wide eyed and start smiling like a dork and I look up at Sapphire speechless. "She's been doing this all morning" She said smiling letting go of my hand and laying her hands on top of her belly. I smile and feel her kick again. I shift so that I'm sitting in front of Sapphire and I place both hands on her belly. I wait, then I feel our baby move around. I lay my head on Sapphire's belly gently and I could hear movement in there. I sit back up and start talking. "Hey there...I'm your mama...me and your mommy are so excited to see you when you come out in a few months." I say and as if she was replying, she moved and kicked my hands. I look up at Sapphire and smile. "She can hear you...babies can hear through the womb..." She says smiling. I sit up and kiss her.

We were getting ready for the baby shower. I mean it wasn't really a big deal wit was just going to be Rose, Greg and our parents. We didn't really want too many people. I was fixing the table cloth which was white with blue and pink pacifiers on it. We had some small baby decorations placed all around the room. Sapphire got out the cake from its box and placed it on the table. It was white with little pink and blue dots and little block that spelled baby on the top. The inside was the best part. The inside was pink which is how we would anounce the gender of the baby. Although we have small goodie bags for whoever guesses the gender. Both Sapphire and I stand back and admire our work. I look at her and kiss her cheeks. She was eating a lot so her cheeks puffed out a bit, that made her even cuter than she was. She smiles at me and we hear the door bell. I go to get the door and when I open it I see Rose and Greg holding a little bag with pink and blue tissue paper. "Omg hi you guys!" Said Rose smiling super big. "Oh my gosh look how big you are! Ugh it's so good to see you!" She says hugging sapphire. "It's so good to see you too!" Sapphire says hugging back. "What's up Rubbs?" Greg says hugging me and I hug back. "Nothing just preppreparing for a baby.." I say laughing. We exchanged people and say our hellos. "Come on in. The living room is this way." Said Sapphire leading the way as I shut our door. "Omg yall's house is SO big!! and pretty" exclaims Rose looking around and sits on the sofa with Greg. "Thank you." Me and Sapphire say as Sapphire sits down on the couch in front of Rose and Greg slowly. I stand behind her. We talk for a while until our parents show up and I let them in since Sapphire was kinda trapped in the couch. Once everyone was here Sapphire and I started the "party". I pulled out a small whiteboard and a marker and wrote everyone's names,e except mine and Sapphire's. "Okay. So Ruby wrote everyone's name on this board and want you all to guess the baby's gender before cutting the cake. The color of the cake will reveal the gender. Everyone who gets the right answer get a prize." Sapphire explains. "This sounds like fun!" My mom says. One by one they guessed. Rose guessed a girl and so did Greg and Sapphire's mom. My mom guessed a boy and so did Sapphire's dad. I wrote everyone's guess by their name and we began to cut the cake. Me and Sapphire cut it together and I hid the cake so no one sees it. "Drum roll please..." Sapphire says and everyone drum rolled on the table. "And it's...." Sapphire said and I showed everyone a pink slice of cake. "A GIRL!!" we both says and everyone smiles. We start handing out slices of cake and I give Rose, Greg, and Sapphire's mom a small visa gift card with 20 on each. We wall sit and eat our cake. Next I cleared the whiteboard and write 4 names on it, Garnet, Alice, Anya, and Felicia. I turned it around to show everyone at the table. "Okay guys, these are the names me and Sapphire have been debating on to name out baby. Help us out. Which one should be the baby's name?" I say and everyone thinks about it. "I like Felicia.." said Sapphire's dad. 'I like Garnet...it's unique and pretty.." Says my mom. "I really like that one...and my due date is in January and the birthstone on January is Garnet so I think it fits." Said Sapphire. I nodded. "I like Garnet" said Rose and everyone seemed to agree. I circled Garnet. "Garnet...that will be the baby's name.." I said smiling. Sapphire reached up for a kiss which I gave. She rubbed her belly. "Hello there baby Garnet..." She said. We opened presents and we got little onesies and bibs with 'I love mommy' and stuff like that. They were all super cute. That night when Sapphire was asleep, I placed my hand on her belly. "Good night baby Garnet..." I said "...I love you..." I finnished as I drifted to sleep.
