Silence is Suicide.
Chapter Six.
I emerged from the clothing rack. I was shaking. If she was a Utopian, who knows what she could do to me. The fawn brown haired girl was startled at first, then her light pink lips smiled at me.
"I knew you were in here." she whispered looking into my caramel brown eyes.
I nodded and sat down a few feet away from her. I was afraid to get any closer.
She giggled, putting her small hand to her mouth. She was blushing. "I'm Rae, by the way. What's your name?"
I held up my pointer finger as to say, "One second." I pulled my whiteboard out of my backpack. "Emerson." I wrote in a dying red marker.
"Emerson..." she whispered to herself, "Why couldn't you straight up tell me?" she questioned me.
I hesitantly wrote, "Long Story..."
"Well, you should tell me sometime. I want to hear your story, Emerson." she offered me a smile. I couldn't tell if it was forced or genuine.
I nodded and returned a slight curve of my mouth.
Her phone started to ring. "One second, I have to answer this." Her flawless face changed dramatically during her conversation on the phone. Her tone grew harsher, obviously upset. "Fine. Bye." she exhaled and pressed the red end button.
She turned back to me. "Hey, Emerson, sorry, but my boyfriend is outside waiting for me. I enjoyed this time with you... I wish I could talk to you more..." Rae had a sad expression on her face.
I stood up and offered her my hands to help her up. She accepted and asked me if I had any way of communication, whether it be Facebook, IM, email, or a phone.
I remembered having an IM from years ago. I nodded writing, "I have an IM."
Her face brightened up a bit. She giggled, "I haven't used mine in FOREVER so don't laugh at my screen name, okay?"
I smiled and nodded.
She gave me her IM screen name and I gave her mine in return.
"I really have to go now. My boyfriend is probably really upset by now." she rolled her eyes, "Bye Emerson." She waved slightly, picked up her instrument case, and walked in a face pace out the door.
Alone again.
