Silence is Suicide.

Chapter Seven.

I made my way out of the school, where all of my dreams were crushed, and into the cold winter air. I walked across the street to the nearest bus stop and waited on a bench. I felt a warm hand on my shoulder. I whipped my head around, nervously looking around my surroundings. No one was near me. Not a single thing was around me. I shook my head and shrank into the bench.

The blue city bus rolled and screeched to a stop. I looked around one last time, Searching for whatever touched me. Nothing was there. I climbed onto the bus and threw my left over $4 from lunch into the money slot. I chose the seat in the farthest back right corner where no one else was sitting.

The second stop on the bus route was the public library. They have computers and it's warm inside there. I decided I would stay there as long as possible. The bus made it's first stop at a grocery store and then finally it reached the library.

I slipped off the bus and into the large building. The computers were in the "Teen" section. I quietly made my way to the old computers. None of them were occupied. Only a few teenagers sat quietly studying with each other.

I logged into my IM.

"Welcome Emerson... 379 days since last log in."

I had one new chat request, from Rae, of course. "Hey:) I haven't used this in FOREVER."

"Me either." I replied.

While chatting with Rae, I curiously looked at all my "friend's" profiles. Everyone was offline except Rae and my old friend, Greg. He moved away right before high school. When "Utopian" and "Uncommon" truly started to 'matter.'

I couldn't resist checking Annabel's profile. Her "current status" was "Emerson+Anna<3 :)Hehe" That was 378 days ago. The day before she went missing. Her picture was of her and myself. I was holding her tight and her smile was as beautiful as the sunrise and sunset. A tear fell from my left eye. I brushed it away quickly.

"Oh shit! Andrew's coming over right now. Can I talk to you some other time...?"

"Yeah, That's okay." I replied.

I received a final message from her. "Okay. Thanks:D good bye."

I signed out and headed to a back corner. I pulled a random book from my backpack out. My eyes grew heavy and eventually closed. I drifted away. Only to find myself drowning in a sea of horrific flashbacks.
