Silence is Suicide.
Chapter Eleven.
The tall, muscular man showed me around his apartment. "You needed the piss-pot right?" he said laughing, pointing to the bathroom. I smiled and rolled my eyes then walked into the bathroom and shut the door.
What if this guy is a total freak? What if he's not who he seems? What if he betrays me like everyone else? All these "What If..." questions flooded my mind. I don't know what I should believe. Maybe I'm just over reacting. He seems cool... I splashed some cold water on my face and walked out of the bathroom.
I found Jeremy sitting on top of the island counter in the kitchen, smoking a cigarette. "Shh, don't tell my girlfriend," he chuckled, "She doesn't like me doing this. Anyway, let's continue the tour." He put his half-smoked cigarette out, jumped down from the island, and sprayed some Febreze around the area.
"This is Ambrosia and my room." he said letting me take a quick peek, then he shut the door. He then opened a door across from his room.
The room had all kinds of instruments laying around. A black and white four-string bass guitar, a six-piece drum set, a blue and white six-string electric guitar, and three microphones. The walls were a light shade of green with original paintings on the walls and in the corners of the room. A small, neat bed laid in the far corner of the cramped room.
"Yeah, my band practices here sometimes. You can crash here tonight. If you want that is..."
I tossed my backpack on the bed.
Jeremy laughed, "I'll take that as a yes. Cool bro... Do you like peanut butter sandwiches..? 'Cause that's like, one of the only things I can make." He ushered me out of the room and we entered back into the kitchen.
He grabbed the sandwich ingredients and began to make a few sandwiches. "So, Emerson, do you play any instruments? Preferably a four-string bass guitar...?"
I shook my head no.
"Damn it." he sounded disappointed. "Remember that drunk dude from the bar who threw a chair at me? Yeah, that dude is our ex-bassist's dad. We had to kick him 'cause he kept messing up in really important shows..." he paused for a moment, "I think I need you in the band...."
