The bell ringed loudly and Lucy groaned as she rested her head on the desk. It was the worst day ever ! It was after lunch and the poor blonde was sick. 'Gosh, I should have listened to Dad and not come to school today.' Lucy was hungry, tired and sick, but she had barely any energy to drag herself to the lunch hall.

Students poured into the room, giggles, laughter and chatter filled the blonde's ears and she hissed in irritation. 'Can't they shut up for even a minute ?' Her desk partner ran in and flopped on his side of the table, and at that moment, the teacher walked in.

Lucy eyed her desk partner, she had never really gotten a good look at him after all, neither did she know his name, but he did have the most ridiculous pink hair. She watched in amusement as he struggled to peel an orange.

After many grunts from the pinkette, Lucy found herself speaking up.

"Dig your fingernails in harder, it should work." Her voice sounded hoarse, probably like Darth Vader, but Lucy didn't care for once.

"Don't have nails." The boy replied, showing her his hands.

"I would help you, but I'm sick." Lucy laughed a little, still watching his orange.

"Damn, thank god I didn't take a jackfruit this morning." He commented, and Lucy smirked.

"You should have taken a tangerine, it's so much easier."

"I don't have tangerines at home, plus I was kind of in a rush. Ah look ! I've succeeded !" The pinkette said excitedly as he finished peeling the citrus fruit.

"Good for you." Lucy grinned, before coughing and sneezing rather terribly.

"Take half of it." The pink-haired boy offered, breaking the fruit into half.

"No thanks." Lucy didn't want to take the fruit that the boy so painstakenly peeled.

"Come on, I can't finish it, and we're friends aren't we ?"

"We are ?"

The teacher chose that precise moment to loudly clear her throat.

"Excuse me, no eating in class ! You can share your orange after class ! And no, Orange Day* is not an excuse."

The class snickered and laughed. Murmurs and whispers could be heard and Lucy groaned. It was Orange Day ? Apparently it was, for the calendar in class showed that it was April 14. God, Lucy knew rumours were going to spread. 'They're gonna think we're a couple when we barely even know each other !'

A noise interrupted her thoughts and Lucy looked up to see four slices of orange being slid onto her table, and she found herself grinning.

"Oranges are good for colds." The boy said with a wide smile, and Lucy smiled back as she quickly ate the oranges, not wanting the teacher to catch them again.

"Thanks." Lucy said quietly.

"I've never gotten your name. I'm Natsu." The pinkette said, grinning.

"I'm Lucy." Lucy said with a smile. "Hey, I'll bring tangerines tomorrow."

"You'd better ! I did share half my orange with you."

Lucy found herself looking forward to tomorrow. Maybe this day wasn't so bad after all.
