Pathetic

The movie ended and the credits began to roll. I'd stayed awake the whole movie, but I was still tired. Gerard's arm was still around my shoulders as I tried to stand up.

"No, don't leave," Gerard whined, pulling me down.

"Gerard, I have to go home. Are you gonna drive me?" I asked back.

"I guess so," he sighed.

The six of us left the cinema and went back to the Way's house. Frank got on his motorbike and left, and Ray and Bob got in their cars.

"Thanks for coming Faye," Mikey said.

"'No problem, I had a good time," I replied with a smile.

"I'm gonna drive her home, I'll be back in like fifteen minutes," Gerard stated, walking me to his car.

"Alright, bro. Is it okay if I invite Delia over?" Mikey asked.

"Yeah, I don't care," Gerard answered, getting in and starting the car.

I got in, struggling with the stupid door. "Sorry I ate your Fish," he said.

"Eh, it's okay. They were only seventy-five cents anyway," I laughed.

"Am I gonna get lectured for putting my arm around you?"

"I thought it was a little weird, but no, I won't yell at you."

"Okay, good."

A few minutes later, Gerard pulled the car to a creaking halt in front of my house. He got out and opened the door for me, walking me to the front door.

"Well, thanks for letting me come tonight, I had fun," I repeated almost the same thing I had a little while ago.

"Thanks for coming," he said, a very faint, almost nonexistent blush spreading across his cheeks.

I didn't know whether or not to do what I was thinking, but I did anyway. Giving Gerard a quick peck on the cheek, I waved and went inside, leaving him without another word.

"Hey Faith, how was your night?" mom asked.

"Mom! What've I told you about calling me that!," I yelled, closing the door and heading to the stairs.

"Faith Aubrey Truitt, what have I told YOU about it? I names you Faith because you were one of the last things I had to look forward to, so don't you start your mouth, little miss!" she screamed back. Her brown hair was in a frizzy bun and made her more intimidating.

I hated the name Faith, which is why I had everybody call me Faye. She huffed and I stomped up the stairs to my room.

I looked out of my window to see if Gerard had left yet. He hadn't. He was sitting in his car wih his hands on the steering wheel, a goofy smile plastered across his face. Pushing the window up, I waved, trying to get his attention.

"Gerard!" I yelled with my hands cupped around my mouth. He looked up and rolled the window down. I glanced down away from his gaze and laughed.

"Do you want to go to the park tomorrow?" I asked.

"Uh, yeah, sure! When?" he asked.

"Noon?"

He nodded. "I'll be there."

I smiled again and pulled the window down. He was so nice. I walked to my bed and took off my flannel, putting it back on the bedpost to hang. I stripped off my skinnies and tossed them towards the closet, revealing black lacy panties with little bows on them, and then slipped my bra off and chucked it next to the jeans.
