Helena's POV

The day after the blessing, I'm tense. How could you expect me not to be tense after being forced to sleep in the same room with a bunch of shirtless guys? I woke up before everyone else, wanting to take a run. There was still dew on the ground, but I didn't care.

As I ran, the dew from the grass flew into the air like butterflies. The sparkled on the rising sun, looking like little glowing lights. I let out a sigh of relief. I had always ran in the morning when I was with the huntresses. It felt like this made me closer to them in a way. I ran away from the cabins, around the woods, and found my self at the beach. I didn't stop. I ran across the sand, watching the waves crash against the shore. The sun was rising, barely peaking out from behind the trees.

After about half an hour, the camp started to wake up. Campers slowly tricked out of their cabins and went their separate ways. I stopped running and simply walked, not wanting to draw any attention to myself. I looked around the camp and felt my self light up when I saw it.

An archery range!

I quickly jog over to the entrance, peaking my head in. There are already a couple people inside, some shooting while others just socializing. I quickly hide behind a tree, taking off my moon shaped hair clip. It expands and grows into my silver bow. A quiver appears hooked on my belt. Boy, I missed this. I walk into the archery range, and no one really seems to notice. I take my bow and put an arrow into it. I pull it back, aiming and-

"Hey newbie." I jump, and the arrow goes flying and misses the target all together. The voice had come from right behind me, making me whip around. Behind me stands a boy, maybe a little older then me. He has a smile on his lips, a twinkle in his emerald green eyes, and to my surprise his eyes seem to glow. His hair is blond with a tint of red. I guess he could be called handsome, but don't ask me. I don't have enough experience to know. He stands there, a good four feet taller then me. I back away slightly. I don't like to be this close to guys.

I try to move around him, to walk away, but he blocks my way with his arm. "Hey, where ya going?" He asks. I can here laughter in his voice, and decide he is only teasing me, otherwise I wouldn't have hesitated to put my fist into his face.

I try to go past him again, and this time he gets out of the way. I see some girls are glaring at me, but why? I didn't do anything. Then I hear the guy following me. I swirl around. "What do you want?" I demand. He only smiles at my out burst. "A name?" He says. I turn around and start walking again. "Helena." I mutter. He walks up besides me, looking intently at me.

"What was that? I couldn't hear, but it sounded kinds like Ella." He says.  I turn to him. "Helena." I say. He smiles. "Nice name." I try to walk faster, to get away be he just jumps in front of me and starts walking backwards. "But I think I'll just call you El. You know it'll be my little Nick name for you."

I glare up at him. "Do you want something?" I ask. He looks up at the sky as if in deep thought. "Lets see." He says. He looks down at me. "I'd like to make a bet." His eyes sparkle with mischief. I stop.

"What kind of bet?" I ask. He leans down to my hight and looks me in the eyes. "I challenge you, Helena, to a bet. If I win, you let me be your friend." I open my mouth to interject, but he interrupts me. "If you win, I'll leave you alone." I contemplate his offer. It seemed like a good deal. "So, what do I have to do to win?"

He smiles at me, seeming excited. "Archery." He say. My heart starts pumping quicker. He was walking into a trap that he set for himself.

Just then one of his friends comes over and throws his arm over my new competitor, or more likely, my new victim. "Jack," says the new guy, "you and I both know that isn't a fair deal. You need to at least give her a chance." I almost laugh. So his names Jack. "Sorry." Jack says, scratching the back of his neck. "Will's right. That wouldn't be fair. What do you want to do." He looks at me intently, seeming like he honestly cared. I just shake my head. "Archery's perfect."
