Michelle’s POV

I was sitting on a stool in the kitchen when I heard the front door open. I looked up at the clock and was surprised at what time it was. Footsteps were getting louder and closer to the kitchen and I knew when my dad was in the same room as me.

“Michelle? Your here……” He dropped his suitcase and walked toward me. When he reached the stool I was sitting on. He ran his hands all over my body. It was like he was checking to make sure I was real and there.

“Dad, I’m fine nothing is wrong with me. I’m actually feeling a lot better than ever.” Being the father that he is he still continued to feel my arms and hands and check my face to make sure everything was fine. When he felt satisfied that I was okay he pulled me into a bear hug and lifted me off the floor. He rarely gives me types of hugs and it felt good to be reminded of the old times when he would come home and I would rush into his open arms.

I wrapped my arms around him and laughed. “You think this is funny Michelle? I was worried sick when the police called and informed me that there was an accident and you were involved.” He let me down and looked me straight in the eyes. “What happened?”

I didn’t know what I should tell him. And even if I told him what really happened would he even believe me? “I really don’t remember much of the accident. It’s still pretty much a blur at the moment.” He nodded his head, but I knew he wasn’t falling for it.

“Michelle, I want to know why you were asking about the visions. Are you getting them?” I my eyes quickly met his and I was surprised that he wanted to talk about this topic so fast.

“Yes” I nodded my head as I replied.

“Explain them to me.”

“They are weird and awkward. I didn’t even know what was happening to me when it was happening. The very first one was random I accidently bumped into a stranger and I saw the future, but then when I touched him again I was taken to the past.”

“Is that the only time it has happened to you?”

“No, it happened two more times. When I met and touched two other people.” He ran his hand through his hair and sighed.

“You were so little you probably don’t remember her. I don’t even think she’s still living in the same house. Your mother wanted to keep you away from her, because she didn’t want you to go through the same thing she did when she was young. She wanted you to live a normal teenage life” He caressed my face and hair and ran his thumb on my cheek. “You look so much like her. Did you know that?” I know it pained my dad to talk about my mom. He loved her dearly and so much that most of the time that’s the main reason I don’t talk about my mom in front or near him.

“I know how much it hurts you to talk about her dad. But I need to know what’s going on with me.”

He got up and tilted his head toward the living room. I got off the stool and followed him. He went to the bar and grabbed a glass and poured some scotch in it. I sat down on the couch and waited for him to say something. He sighed and walked over to me. “When I met your mother I didn’t know that she was different. Well I knew she was but I didn’t know she was special.” He paused and it seemed that he was in a different world. It pained me to see him like this. I didn’t want to cause him pain from remembering the good times I reached out and grabbed his hand and squeezed it. He looked up at me and gave me a small sad smile. “When she told me she was a witch I didn’t understand what she was talking about…….. ” he laughed and continued “She actually thought I wasn’t going to love her any differently than before so she ran. At first it was a shock but that didn’t mean I didn’t want her, so I didn’t understand why she thought I wasn’t going to love her any differently than I did then.”
