Summer 2011:

I opened my door and walked down the hall to the kitchen, sighing as I saw the math and reading packets on the kitchen table. I walked to the pantry and grabbed a box of fruity pebbles. Then I opened a cabinet and grabbed a bowl. I poured the cereal slowly, yawning, and stopping to stretch. I finally opened the refrigerator and started coughing. I swear I almost hacked up my lungs. I stared at a moldy piece of cheese my sis had snuck in there as a prank.

"VERY FUNNY," I yelled as I picked it up with a napkin and tossed it in the trash can.

We had been living in this apartment for 11 years with my Aunt. Sadly she died in 2006, and so Emily took care of us. She was 15 when our parents died, was 21 when my aunt died, and is now 25 (almost 26). Ana was 11, and is now 22. She didn't go to college, so she's stuck working as a waitress at applebee's down the street.

"Wha?" She yelled back. I stopped in my tracks.

"Oh god...TELL ME YOU DIDN'T LEAVE THAT CHEESE IN OVERNIGHT!" I heard her fall out of bed. She lazily trudged down the hall, leaning against the wall.

"Yeah...why?" I squealed, and ran over to tackle her, pinning her on the ground with my arms hugging her shoulders.

"WHY?! NOW I GOTTA CLEAN OUT THE REFRIGERATOR! NO! YOU KNOW WHAT?!" She squirmed around, wincing.

"WHAT?!"

"YOU'RE GONNA DO IT!" She screamed and one of the neighbors banged on their floor.

"SHUT UP!" They said.

"SORRY!" I yelled.

"MY SISTER IS BEING A MANIAC, SO PLEASE EXCUSE HER AT THE MOMENT!" Ana yelled. I smacked her playfully, and laughed, standing up and brushing the dust off my knees.

"Come on, let's get some breakfast." I reached out my hand, and helped her up.

There was a knock on the door, and I walked to it.

"Who is there?" I answered like a robot.

"Take me to your leader!" The voice said. I laughed and opened the door. Hunter walked in and sat a bag of groceries down. "I bring refreshments." I gasped and tore open the bag, letting grape and orange Fantas fall out. I frowned.

"No Dr. Pee?" I asked. Then Darianna walked in with another bag.

"Of course!" She said, setting down the bag and ripping that one.

"AHHH!" I screamed. I knew the neighbors would be out, so it didn't really matter. I gave her and Hunter a big hug, and grabbed a Dr. Pepper. I plopped on the couch and turned on the TV.

"FUNIMATION FUNIMATION FUNIMATION," Hunter chanted as he sat down next to me. I laughed.

"Alright, alright," I said. "Im getting there!" I was only a few channels away, anyways. It finally came on, and Soul Eater was playing. I squealed.

"Its my favorite," I said to Darianna, who was opening a Grape Fanta.

"Oh no," she sighed. I smiled and turned to the TV. "Soul and Mama BELONG together...I know it. I feel it in my bones!" Hunter laughed.

"Yeah," he said. "Whatever you say. Its not a love story." I stuck out my lip and he smiled.

"Just wait..." I said. "Hey!"

"Hey!" Darianna said. "Wait...didn't we do this a few minutes ago?" I laughed.

"Let's go somewhere!" Hunter jumped up.

"I thought we were just friends?" I threw a pillow at him.

"Perv. I mean like LEAVE the APARTMENT." He nodded.

"I see....my place?" I laughed and rolled onto the floor.

"No! Let's go to a PLACE." Darianna walked over to me, and I sat up.

"The mall?"

"No!" I said. "A restaurant!"
