A Seek for Reason - Chapter 6

My Saturdays were usually spent by sleeping in, but today I felt abnormally in the mood to get up early. Early meaning 10:30am. This was probably because this wasn't like any other Saturday. On normal Saturdays, I woke up as an unhappy, single teenager, but this time, I woke up as a happy teenager who had a boyfriend. I felt so happy that I skipped the stage of checking my phone, going on my laptop and washing my  face, and I just went down to see my mom first, instead. 

'Goodmorning. You're up early,' she said.

'Yeah, I wasn't that tired last night.'

'Oh, I see. Well I'm gonna make some pancakes. They'll probably be ready in about 15.'

'Alright. I'm just gonna go back upstairs. I'll come down when they're ready.'

So I went back upstairs and proceeded to my regular routine; wash face, check phone, go on laptop. Once my face washing was done I checked my phone; 2 messages. One was from Megan and the other was from Skylar.

Megan: yo gurl. sleepover at my house tonight. ari's probs gonna be there as well :) xx

Skylar: Goodmorning, text me when you wake up ♥ 

I replied to Megan first, since she texted me first.

Megan: yo gurl. sleepover at my house tonight. ari's probs gonna be there as well :) xx

Me: eyy, yeah sure :) we haven't had one of those in a while.

Megan: alright, i'll call you later xx

Then, Skylar.

Skylar: Goodmorning, text me when you wake up ♥ 

Me: Morning ♥ i'm uppp!

Skylar: meet me for breakfast?

Me: my mom's making pancakes :( you're free to come over, though.

Skylar: ahah meet your parents already?

Me: don't worry. it's just my mom. my dad's working today. so you don't have to worry about the questions cus my mom's not like that. just my dad ahaha

Skylar: hahaha. alright then. i'll be there in ten <3

Me: alright see you <3

My  mom didn't know about me and Skylar so I thought I should use this as an opportunity to tell her. So I went downstairs to do that.

'Um, mom, I have a new.. uhh.. friend. Is it okay if you make extra pancakes, because I invited him over?'

'Ahh, so is this friend, really just a... friend?'

'Well, uhh, no?'

'Ahh, so when did you two become.. uhh. not friends.'

'Yesterday.'

'Ahh, alright. I'll make extra pancakes.'

'Alright, thank you, mom. He's gonna be here in 10 minutes,' I said, as I kissed her cheek and walked out the door.

I decided to skip going on my laptop and go watch TV instead while I waited for Skylar to come. There was nothing good on so I just settled for My Super Sweet Sixteen. Ten minutes later, Skylar rang the doorbell. I opened the door and he was standing there with his hands in his hoodie pockets. He smiled at the sight of me and pecked me on my lips as he walked in. I lead him into the kitchen to introduce to my mom.

'Mom, this is Skylar.'

Skylar shook her hand and said, 'Goodmorning, Ms Flynn, it's really nice to meet you.'
