Unfortunately the dream I had the night before returned, only this time the woman from the cafe was sat there just crying. Crying out for her family, for her son, her daughter. Her life. The flames surrounded her as though it was drawn to her sadness.
Before I could get to her though I was woken yet again by Seth.
"Really? You have to use that face to wake me up with?" I grumbled. The frown on his face made me want to go back into the dream, surely it would be better than the lecture I was going to receive once I got downstairs.
"Just hurry it up will you." He said still with that stern look on his face as though he was telling off a miss-behaved child.
If this kept up my eyes would start hurting with the amount they seemed to roll around in my sockets. I forced myself out of the bed that kept calling me back for more sleep and dragged myself down the stairs one foot fall after the other.
"What no bacon this morning? Wow you really are angry." I said. Really I should have kept my mouth shut, I knew I wasn't ready for what I had attempted yesterday but for some reason I couldn't seem to control myself.
"Nope, here." He said throwing me a bottle of the same thick liquid he gave me yesterday.
Opening the bottle set every nerve in my body on edge. Like my body recognized it immediately so much that the hairs on my arms stood up. My eyes closed and my nostrils flared at the sweet smell of blood getting closer to my mouth as I tilted the bottle to my lips. Again as soon as the fluid hit my tongue and made its way to the back of my throat it felt like a burn making its way through me.
Stopping halfway through I decided to savor it like I managed to the second sandwich we had yesterday.
"So when does the lecture begin?" I asked knowing that there was one to come. There was no way that Seth had nothing to say about the events.
"What in the world where you thinking?" He asked pausing as though waiting for an answer. Realizing he wasn't going to get one he carried on. "I mean you're nowhere near ready for opening up your mind to others, look what it did to you before. It almost made you crazy. And what if you ended up not being able to control yourself and basically flew across the room to her, you could have put yourself in danger. And not just you but our entire race!"
"I know I'm sorry. I just saw the sadness on her face and had to know what was wrong with her, then after that I had no idea what I was doing." I said hoping that he would understand I mean it was after all my first outing with the humans.
"Believe me it won't happen again, I'd rather not feel the pain of what she went through never mind anyone else." I said as a matter of fact. I had my own demons to deal with never mind anyone else's.
He seemed quite satisfied with that answer and the sternness faded from his face into one of those smug grins.
"Other than that I'd say the day went pretty well. Oh and I hope you don't mind the name by the way. Rosalie?" He asked actually seeming worried that I wouldn't like it.
"Actually it's not bad, I mean you have pretty much no taste in anything so yeah for you it's not bad." I joked trying to lighten the mood
I actually managed to get a laugh out of him. "So how was it for you, the sun? The humans?" He asked.
I had no idea what he meant by the sun really as I felt nothing from it sure it was bright but that was all.
"The sun was fine. And actually the humans aren't too bad if you don't hear their thoughts. I think I can manage." I replied honestly.
