"So I see you have finally given up on that whole silent treatment then?" Seth asked, knowing I had broken the vow I made myself.

"Well since that wasn't bugging you I thought I would go one up and just keep talking, that seems to annoy you more," I said with a smile knowing that I was right. Sometimes without realizing I could hit one of Seth's nerves - it was like a game of minesweeper never knowing where you can step without hitting a bomb.

"You know Tina has quite some stories," I said waiting for Seth's head to come shooting up and boy was I right.

"Oh really, what did she have to say then." Seth asked impatiently

"You know just the usual like you can get away with anything, you seem mysterious, like dark clothing. Oh and how you used to fool around, the usual."

I didn't even notice that Seth had stopped until I got over the internal laughter in my head and could no longer hear Seth's shoe's hitting the pavement. When I turned to look at him I could have sworn that he was blushing. His cheeks had gone a shade of red compared to his pale face and his eyes faced down towards the floor never meeting mine.

"Sorry," he said. "I didn't realize she would mention any of that. But hey what can I say I must really be something if she can remember something from that long ago."

And there it was, the arrogant jerk rising back to the surface as though he had never been embarrassed at all. All I could do was roll my eyes and carry on walking.

"Where to now then?" I asked since all I was doing was walking. I had absolutely no idea where I was heading.

"Well what do you want to do?" For the first time I think that's the first time that Seth has ever asked me what I want to do.

"How about seeing how you do mixing in with others? You know sort of a tester." He said.

I could see what he was trying to do. And actually I was thankful for it. Sure he had threw me in the deep end with Tina who strung word after word out of her mouth, but I guess that's the only way to do it really. There is no going slow with this whole coming out and living in the open. I mean after all they were everywhere and there is no way to avoid the humans - unless I go back living in the sewers. And honestly things hadn't been too bad so far.

"Ok, what do you have in mind?"

The next thing I knew Seth was dragging me into this little cafe. It looked homely with a sign saying 'Home is where the food is', hanging over the counter sat at the back of the room with tables and chairs surrounding the front of it. The colors on the walls gave of warmth unlike Seth's home. A mixture of browns and reds decorated the entire place.

The woman standing at the counter held a bright smile not unlike talkative Tina back at the clothing shop.

"Hi, what can I get you today?" She asked. Looking at her name tag I found her name what Anne.

"Two of your best bacon butties please," Seth replied with a slight lift of his lip giving her a smile.

"Of course, if you would like to choose a seat I'll bring them right over for you," Anne promised.

I made my way over to a table that seemed like the quietest away from all of the others huddled round there food. Man some people could miss their mouths. One person had tried lifting a fork over-flowing with food and managed to spill half of it down his chin and back on to the plate it had come from. I couldn't help but let out the slightest of laughs.
