"Daniel..." Peter said looking off in the distance.

"Do you know him?"

"I knew of him, yes but personally no. He was born a couple of miles away from where I used to live."

"Wait you lived in the enchanted forest? I thought you were from like London or something."

"I was. A long time ago I was born in London. I never knew of my parents, in fact I was, am, an orphan. I started pickpocketing when I was around 12 and the orphanage I was staying at was awful so I decided to live on the streets. I started stealing and I was never happy."

I rested my hand on his and he stared at it for a second before he continued.

"One day I was walking down a busy street and I came across a man with a funny looking hat. He said his name was Jefferson and offered me a better life."

"Hold on a second, Mad Hatter Jefferson?" I asked and Peter laughed.

"Yes, Mad Hatter Jefferson, but I didn't know that at the time. Anyways, he handed me a clear bean that, little did I know, was a magic bean. I held it up to the sunlight to inspect it and when I turned back to Jefferson he was gone. I went down the nearest alley to find him but couldn't.

I was so mad I lost him that I threw the bean on the ground and it opened up a portal that took me to the enchanted forest."

"Why are you telling me this?" I asked. He doesn't seem like the 'I'm going to open up to everyone type'.

"Well I don't want to argue anymore and I wanted to show I trusted you." He said.

"Of course you can trust me. And if you were in the enchanted forest then how did you get here?" I asked inching closer to him. I could have sworn I saw his eyes start to glaze over but it went away as soon as it came.

"Now that-" he said and looked me in the eyes. "-is a great story, for another time. We need to start heading back. I have a camp to run." He said and started to slide off the limb of the tree. Before he could get farther down I slid off and stopped him.

"Promise?" I asked and smiled.

"I promise."

We started climbing down the tree, me in the lead and Peter following close behind. I was half way down when my foot stepped on a stick instead of a branch and it broke. I lost balance and fell. Peter reached out and tried to grab me but missed me by an inch and I started falling to the forest floor.

From out of nowhere Peter appeared on the ground below and caught me bridal style right before I was about to hit the ground.

"You should be more careful there love." He said and looked down at me.

"Thank you for catching me Peter." I said. He smiled when I said his name but quickly let it fade.

"Thanks for being such a catch." He wrapped his arms tighter around me.

In that moment I didn't see the monster that consumed Peter every day. I saw the innocent boy under the mask and smiled.

He smiled back at me and pulled me up closer to him. So close that I could see the golden specks in his eyes and it seemed like time was standing still.

"Didn't you say you had to get back to camp?" I asked and he chuckled.

"I think the boys can manage on their own for a couple more minutes." He said closing his eyes and started to tilt his head down slowly. I tilted my head up and closed my eyes.

"PAN! What should we do about those two that are bringi-"

I opened my eyes and saw Felix carrying his spear, as usual, coming out of the thick jungle. I rolled my eyes at him and jumped down from Peter and he sighed.

"Thanks again for catching me. I'm going to go back to camp. See ya later." I said and walked past Felix down the path he just came from.

I thought about what Peter said the entire way back to the camp. I wasn't paying attention and walked right into one of the boys.

"Oh I'm so sorry I wasn't paying attention." I said. The boy turned around and smiled.

"It's okay, Megan right? I don't think we've properly met. I'm Matt."

He was around my height, maybe an inch taller and had brown hair. His eyes were hazel and he looked a little older than me.

"Yeah I'm Megan, and no we haven't met I wasn't introduced to any of the lost boys besides Alan, Felix and Sebastian."

"Well we've gotta fix that! Boys come on over here and meet Megan!" He said and the boys sat in a circle around us. "Okay introduce yourselves and not all at once like last time." He said to the boys. "You already know Alan." He said and Alan waved.

A boy with brown hair raised his hand. "I'm Oliver" he said and put it back down.

"Luke" a boy with brownish blondish hair said.

"Fox" the boy in the back with pale blonde hair said.

"Charlie"

"Curly"

"Will"

"Tootles"

"Sam"

"Nibs"

"Brian"

"Slightly"

"Adam"

The introductions finished and everyone went back to what they were doing. Alan and I sat on the logs around the fire and watched the boys goof off. Eventually Alan got pulled into a dog pile, with him on the bottom and I almost fell off the log laughing. They wrestled and fought with sticks for the last hour of daylight.

When night fell Peter and Felix were still gone but the fire started out of no where, probably Peter's doing.

"Hey Alan!" I called over to him. He left he circle of lost boys he was at and walked over.

"Yeah? What's up." He said and stood in front of me.

"Where's Peter?"

"No idea. Probably talking to the Shadow."

"Shadow?" I asked but he already walked away.

Half an hour passed when Felix emerged from a path.

"Felix! Where's Peter?" I asked and walked over to him.

"He's getting everything ready for our guests. BOYS! GATHER ROUND!" Now we've been waiting a very long time for this so don't mess anything up. Stick to the plan."

"Now remember your instructions boys." Peter said coming out of the jungle. "It's all just a game, and you know how much I love games. Well, the games about to begin." He said and walked over to the middle of the camp.

He waved his hand and the camp disappeared like it was never there. Then he walked over to me and put his arm around my waist.

"Boys!" He shouted. "Let's play!"

Hey! I didn't update in what two weeks? Sorry! I had to annotate a book I didn't read and had a test Tuesday, a performance Thursday and I had to write a whole song for science that I have to perform today😥 and this weekend I went to Disney.
