Epilogue
From that day, in mid June 1994, after Dumbledore cast that spell to save Percy's life, she was admitted to St. Mungo's long term ward. She stayed there until Christmas of 1995 when she, along with Arthur Weasley, was taken to her childhood home of number 12 Grimmauld Place. In all that time she spoke no words. Not to anyone. She locked herself in her childhood bedroom and ate barely anything. She spent all her time staring out the window at the street below, watching the muggle cars go by and the pedestrians walk slowly down the street without a care in the world.
She stayed in this state of deep depression and denial until two years, to the day, after she attempted suicide.
"We have to go, Sirius." Molly Weasley called through the house.
"We can't leave her alone." Sirius Black argued back.
"This is Harry we are talking about. We need to leave." Sirius conceded to Molly's orders and flooed to the ministry, leaving an empty Grimmauld Place, aside from Percy.
"Kreacher!" Percy yelled.
The house elf appeared in front of his master. He was just as taken aback as anyone would have been for her first word in two years. The healers at St. Mungo's had predicted that she would never speak again, not without serious counselling. Not much of that had been provided to her. Most just left her to her own. And she was great full for that.
After a moment, Kreacher responded with "What can Kreacher do for his mistress?"
"Why did Sirius and the others go to the ministry?" Percy's voice was clear and even.
"Harry Potter got in trouble that Master Sirius had to save him from." Kreacher croaked
"I want to help." Percy announced "Fetch me the Floo powder." Her house elf bowed and ran off.
He came back a moment later with a small porcelain jar with green powder in it and a wand.
"Kreacher thought Mistress Persephone might need her wand." Kreacher said
"Thank you." Percy said softly. She had flinched when her full name was said but made no further inquiries into the matter.
Percy took a handful of the powder from the jar and threw it down into the fireplace before announcing "Ministry of Magic!" She stepped into the green flames and was swept into a grand room filled with chaos from a wizarding battle.
She walked right down the middle of the fighting people. No one dared shoot a spell at her. They all thought she was on their side. Those who served the Dark Lord knew her as Persephone Black. Those who fought the Dark Lord knew her as Priscilla White. Neither were correct, however. She was neither. She was Percy Gray. A shadow of both women yet no corporeal aspects beyond them.
For a moment, everyone fighting paused. They watched the elegant woman appear out of the fireplace and assess her surroundings. This caused some of the fighters to get hit by stray curses or miss wildly when sending some.
The question on the tips of their tongues were "which side?" In truth, she didn't even know herself. Both sides of Percy fought to run to either side to be with her brother or her cousins.
"Lucius." she smiled. It was sort of an uneasy almost leading to a glare, smile. "I've missed you." she continued "Your son, Draco, he's a handsome young boy. Looks a lot like you."
Lucius' face remained in his stone cold glare.
"What? No 'hello'? I haven't seen you and Cissy in so long."
"You were dead. He killed you because you were going to betray him." Lucius said calmly
"What? Bella didn't tell you?" she asked in a mock surprise tone. "My memory was taken from me, by the Dark Lord himself. He showed me mercy so I am to repay him."
All the members of the Order of the Phoenix felt all the hope slip away from them. The knew what an asset she would have been if she had fought on their side.
All the Death Eaters felt over joyed. They had witnessed, first hand What she was capable of during the first rise of Voldemort. She had even been a friend to some of them.
"Seph, don't do this." Sirius said in a warning tone.
"Oh, please. I am more than capable of handling my own affairs. Thus has nothing to do with you anymore."
"Persephone-" Sirius trailed off. He had lost his sister the day she had put that vile mark on her left forearm; he had been foolish to think that he would ever get her back. She was long dead, just like Regulus, his mother, his father, James.
Percy sent one last glare to her younger brother before moving on to the next Death Eater she wanted to talk to.
"Bella," she greeted her cousin calmly "I wanted to let you know that, though I don't agree with what you did, I understand it. You had to for the benefit of our Lord."
"It's good to have you back." she laughed hysterically.
She snatched the prophecy out of Harry's hands. She held it up to the light.
"Call him here." Percy ordered. Rodolphus pulled up the sleeves of his robes and touched the tip of his wand to his forearm. In a puff of smoke, The Dark Lord himself appeared in front of the large group. Percy had frozen all the order members with a nonverbal spell.
"My Lord." Percy bowed
"Persephone." he said surprised "I hadn't expected to see you back for another year."
"I believe this is yours." Percy held up the glass orb
"Was that so hard, Lucius?" he sneered.
"My Lord, I-" he was cut off by the raising of Voldemort's hand.
"Give me the prophecy, Persephone." he ordered.
"Yes, my Lord." she sent a smirk over to Lucius. She lifted her hand, slowly, to her master. Suddenly, the orb slipped out of her hand and crashed to the floor. It shattered on contact with the hard tile.
"Oops." she giggled. She skipped over to her, still frozen, brother and released everyone from the spell. "Grab Harry and run." she hissed. Siriusnodded, his eyes wide.
The battle enssued once more.
Death Eaters agaisnt the Order of the Pheonix.
Percy cast a dissillutioned charm over herself and stood within it all. She watched jets of light streak past her, dodging the odd one.
In one corner, Mad-eye Moody was fighting the two Lestrange brothers.
In another, Anton Dolohov was fighting Remus Lupin and Nymphadora Tonks.
Kingsley Shaklebot was fighting lucius Malfoy.
The Dark Lord himself was fighting Albus Dumbledore.
Bellatrix Lestrange, nee Black, had cornered her cousin and was about to send one last, fatal curse. The jet of green light shot out of her wand right towards Sirius Black's chest. It hit something in between the pair and a body dropped dead between them. Persephone Black's body came into view and fell and lay dead in between Bella and Sirius.
Sirius fell to his knees beside his sister. He eyes were glazed over and her face, stone cold. A few tears slipped out of his eyes. She had attempted to save the last of her family. Bellatrix saw he shot, and took it. Sirius Black died from the second Avada Kedavra curse. His dead body slumped over his sister's.
Sirius Black died that night. Persephone Black left just a few moments before.
Along with Priscilla White and Percy Grey and any other combination thereof.
