Chapter 8 [A story told]

Eric's P.O.V.

"E-Eric... For how long have you been able to do that?" Jack said holding his head.
"F-For like... My whole life..." I said laying down a little.
"Eric... You okay?" Maya asked me as she sat a little closer to me.
"Yea... I just... Get a little tired after using my... healing powers..." I said in a more quiet tone.

"H-healing powers? Eric... Are you... A shadow?" Jack said looking at me.

"W-What?! No! I'm far away from that! Wait... How do you know about the shadows?"

"Shadows?" Maya said quietly.

"I... Uhh..." Jack said not answering my question. He stood up and walked away form us, not looking back.

"Jack! Wait!" Maya yelled after him but he was to far away.

"It's no use... He wont listen... I can understand him..." I said looking the way Jack went.

"How?"

"If he knows about the shadows then it must mean that the amulet we found is one of those I saw in the shadow lands..."
"Shadow lands?"

"It's a place where the shadows live and I believe that amulet he has contains one shadow... One shadow that was ment to help the other shadows when they got attacked."

"Uhh can you maybe tell the whole story if there is one?"

"Okay... There's a place called The Shadow Lands, it's where all the shadows live. Now those shadows I'm about to talk about is not like the ones we can see. The shadows had different groups. There was the dragon group, demon group, angel, animal, spirits, all kinds of groups! And all these shadow groups had one special shadow. Now the demon and dragon groups didn't have that so one time there was a man that created one special shadow with a dragon part and one with a demon part. Both was stored in an amulet and the one that has the amulet is able to control that shadow. Now every shadow doesn't' work like this... It's actually only two which is the ones I already have told you about. Now a while ago when I was with my grandpa we went to the shadow lands to trade. Everything went well and then when we were going to go home we just went to the shadow lord to just say hello. My grandpa and the shadow lord did have the quite background together so they knew each other pretty well. When we had said hello and my grandpa had introduced me to the lord we were going to leave but then one shadow came up the lord and just... Killed him on the spot... One shot and he was just... Gone... My grandpa and I just ran, ran as far as we could but then... My grandpa said that I must keep on running and not looking back... that made me left behind my grandpa... to that... monster... I wanted to save him but I was too weak at that time... I couldn't do anything... I swore that one day I would get my revenge... more of that... I don't know..."

"Wow... You have quite the history with those shadows then..." Maya said looking at me surprised.
"Heh... Yea kinda... It's more like my grandpa had a bigger history with them... But yea I did have some history with them."

"Sounds cool, now... About Jack... Should we go after him?"
"Uhh... You stay here while I go get him... Okay?"
"Ok!"
"Good now see you soon then." I said and teleported away.

Maya's P.O.V.

"Sounds cool, now... About Jack... Should we go after him?" I said looking at Eric getting up from the ground.
"Uhh... You stay here while I go get him... Okay?" He said and got up fully.
"Ok!" I said and sat up in a rush.
"Good now see you soon then." He said before he... teleported?
'D-Did he just teleport?' I thought and looked after him. After a while I started to look for a place to stay until we get enough stuff to explore this island as it looked like. I found some food from the plane, some bananas and coconuts from the trees, which I got down by just throwing rocks at the coconuts and just shaking the tree with the bananas, and some water from a water source nearby. We had enough food and water but now we just needed some items for example something to fight with if we meet up with a bear or maybe a panther. *Gasp* 'MAYBE EVEN A LION OR A TIGER!'. Some minutes later it was going really well but then all of a sudden I heard a noise coming from the jungle behind me.

Jack's P.O.V.

'Why did I just say that? I'm such an idiot! Maybe I wasn't allowed to say anything about the shadows!'

'You know that you're pretty loud when you're talking for your self huh?' I heard Mystery saying in my head.
'I am?'

'Yea.'

'Oops...'

'Did you forget about that I can hear your thoughts?'
'Kinda...'

'Hm... Yes he was allowed to know.'

'What?'
'Eric. He's allowed to know about that you have a connection to us Shadows but the girl... I'm not sure...'

'Uhh okay... Wait... How did you know his name was Eric?'

'I've seen him before in the Shadow Lands.'

'Shadow Lands?'

'My home.'

'Oh...'
'Oh lookie! Looks like someone wants to join you.' Mystery said like a little girl. It kind of reminded me of Annie.
"Huh?"
"Jack wait!" I heard Eric yell from behind.

"Eric... I..."
"Don't worry Jack... I wont tell anyone about you having some sort of connection to the Shadows."
"How did you know I had a connection to one?"
"I saw it on your eye. Only Shadows have their eyes like that."
"Oh... Well then..."
"Now would you like to tell me about this Shadow you have a connection with?"
"Huh? I uhh... Let me see first if I-"

'Yes you're allowed to tell him who I am.' I heard Mystery chuckle in my head.
"Ugh... I never thought it would hurt so much just to talk to you."
'Hey! It's not my fault my presence is like that!'
"Jack you okay? You're kind of talking to yourself..."

"Huh? Oh I did? Oops..."
"Was it the Shadow?"
"Y-Yea... Her name's Mystery... And well... I got her from I think the amulet that we found on the plane."
"As I thought then."

"What?"

"I knew that amulet looked familiar. I saw that exact amulet around a girls neck some weeks ago. I think that girl is Mystery. She never told me her name though."
'Yep there you have why I recognize him.'
"Agh! Mystery stop talking!"
'Oops... Sorry... Hm... I'll do this instead. Jack take of the amulet and put it on the ground. Trust me. I think it will make everything better.'
"Ugh... F-Fine..." I said holding my head. I took of the amulet and put it on the ground as Mystery told me.
"Uhm... Jack... What are you doing?"

"I don't know to be honest..."
After saying that the amulet started glowing bright and all of a sudden Mystery stood right in front of us.
"I... How?" I said just staring at Mystery.
"Hehe. See? You trusted me enough to take of the amulet, which is a dangerous thing to do if you're the owner to the amulet."

"Wait... It's dangerous to take of the amulet? In what way?" I said nearly yelling it.
"Just in one way... Plus it's only dangerous if Inferno is around so-" Mystery said but as soon as she said 'so' she put her hands on the mouth like she said something wrong.
"Mystery? You okay? Who's Infer-"
"Shhh! You never heard me say it! Ever!" She said and turned around.

"Mystery... Is there something you aren't telling me?"
"Yes! But I'm not allowed to either! Me and my sister promised to never say his name ever again! Not even talk about him! So I'm sorry but I can't tell you anything about it..."

"Hmm..."
"Something's wrong Eric?"
"Hm? No, no. It's not I was just thinking for myself."

"Okay... Should we head back to Maya now or?"
"Yea probably... It's pretty dark out now so let's just hope Maya found a place for us to stay at for the night."
"To make her not freak out I'll do this." Mystery said and just like that, she looked like a normal girl. Her hair was now brown and her skin was normal. She still had the same clothes as before but now she... she kind of looked... cute... in one way.
"Woah! You can do that?"
"All Shadows can do that Jack. Didn't she tell you that?"

"No I never did now to think about it... I kind of weren't in the mood to tell him more about me." Mystery said and looked at Eric.
"Huh... Well let's get back to Ma-"
"Ahhhhhhhhh!" We heard a girl scream from the distance.

Well hope you guys liked this chapter! I think this is the longest one now but I'm not sure. It's about 1400 words soooo... xD
