"Andrew?" I said probably looking like a doof.
All I got in return was a smirk and probing eye contact that made my head spin.
I started to feel subconscious about my out fit. The urple dinner dress, messy bun and bare feet I was sporting right now just didn't seem fitting in the presence of such good looking people.
What?
It's my house why would I wear shoes in my house?
Maybe I should have though. I think and curly my toes as if that will shield me.
He seems to notice my reaction and gives off a light laugh that makes me smile. Maybe he doesn't care, I mean he laughed. I start to assess his outfit, light blue button up and dark jeans with dress up shoes and his hair tossed messily atop his head but still looks arranged. God he makes everything look good.
My eyes travel back up to his face to find he was doing the same to me. Our eyes meet at the exact same moment causing our smiles to stretch even further, if possible.
I am lost in the grey pools that are his eyes. They just hold so much depth that I feel I will never be able to uncover.
"Ehem..." I hear someone clear their throat.
I snap my head towards the origin of the noise to find Andrew's parents with knowing smiles on their faces.
I can tell my mom is trying to think of something to continue with regular conversation but that is far from possible. I mean me and Andrew just eye-raped each other in front of our parents. Or at least I was eye-raping him.
"Here let me take that for you." I offer as I reach for the bowl of dessert Andrew is holding. Our fingers brush as I take the bowl in my hands and I fight the urge to bring my hands back when tingles spread up my arm from his touch.
"Yeah let's all go because I'm starving!" My dad announces with a clap of his hands as he spins on his heels.
"I don't see how when all you did was sneak food." I mumble with a frown on my face. Seriously he did way more "taste testing" then I did.
"Sounds like your father. Haven't changed have you Danny?" Mr. Calloff agrees with me and laughs at the old nickname.
How did he-? I thought I-?
I turn around to see everyone holding back snickers at what we just said. How did they hear me? I spoke under my breath! I barely even heard myself!
"Yeah, yeah. Just sit down before I take away your privilege of seconds Jay Jay." My dad uses his nickname for Andrews dad.
This night awe to be fun.
Andrew
She looks amazing.
Absolutely stunning, I mean she is always eye catching but now that she is dressed for an occasion it makes her seem all the more dazzling.
Her and her cute little purple dress, messy bun and bare feet make her seem innocent, me and my wolf just want to play with her.
Not in a dirty way of course, but play fight.
Dinner has been served and our parents are engrossed in a conversation about who knows what. All I'm focusing on is my beautiful mate sitting across from me at the end of the table.
My wolf is finally at ease seeing our mate in front of us, safe and sound, at a distance we could protect her.
I love the way she gets flustered and blushes whenever she sneaks a glance at me just to find that I'm already looking at her. She's so beautiful and I can't help but to stare at her beauty. Man am I lucky.
"So " my moms voice brings me out of my ogling sesh. "How are you liking the area so far, Amelia?"
Not expecting to be brought into conversation my mate finishes the bite of food in her mouth and wipes the corners of her mouth before answering my moms question.
"Very much so, ma'am. I am actually applying for a job at the bookstore downtown tomorrow." Amelia clears her throat and straightens her back proudly with a kind smile on her face.
Goddess, that smile.
"Please call me Susan." My mom offers with a smile of her own. "You seem like a nice girl, I am sure you will get it."
Amelia's face scrunches up in confusion probably wondering what being nice has to do with a potential job but didn't have the chance to question because my dad decided to jump on the ban wagon.
"Have you seen anything in particular you like so far? Landscape, animals?" He asks.
I didn't miss the questioning looks Amelia's parents were throwing towards my parents. I mean they were hinting at stuff but her parents didn't know about the mating yet.
I could feel my agitation growing at my parents inquiry. It felt like they were interrogating her but I knew that was my over protectiveness through the new mating bond. My parents warned me about what they would do during this dinner and how I needed to stay under control which is what I was working on.
All my worries were sweeped away though when my mates excited tone reached my ears. "I haven't been able to wonder around much but Andrew agreed to take me to the cliffs. I can't wait to see what everyone has been talking about." She trails off observing me through her eye lashes.
She's comfortable here. And is settling in nice. Great!
I could feel my whole body heat up and my wolf stir. That innocent, excited little girl smile turned into a knowing smile as soon as she saw my reaction and her normally hazel eyes morphed into a more yellow color like at the lunchroom.
"That was very sweet of you Andrew!" Sarah squeals.
And so the night continued, our parents catching up, our fathers' playful banter, and my parents questions. However, I couldn't focus on any of that as I noticed how well Amelia got along with my parents and how social she is with everyone.
She's going to make such a good Luna.
