Of course. We got the weak little girl on our team. The one who's always getting hurt and going to the nurse just for attention.
Why the hell was everyone so against me?
I shot her a look of disapproval. I saw her cheeks turn slightly pink and watched her turn to her friend; what the hell was her name? Nala?
Who names their child Nala?
Cecilia's hands curled into fists. I smirked slightly. She was trying to act tough.
"What are you staring at?" My friend Jake asked me. I looked over at him, sneering slightly. "Cecilia."
"Why? Do you like her?" Jake sounded excited. I almost slapped him. "Like hell, I like her! She's impossible to like! She's so weak! She get's hurt by just standing there."
"Whoa, whoa." Jake held up his hands. "Slow down there, Isaac. How do you know that she's getting hurt? What if she's already hurt?"
I lifted my eyebrows. "Are you defending her?" I asked skeptically. Jake shrugged. "I'm just trying to make you think logically."
I shrugged. "Alright team!" I shouted, clapping my hands.
My small band of kids headed toward me, waiting for a game plan.
I was just that superior to the rest of them.
"Here's what we do. Build a fort, defend it as best you can, but focus on getting their players out. Don't bother with their fort. It doesn't matter."
Cecilia opened her mouth. "Actually it does matter. If we take down their tool of defense-"
"Shut up, Princess." I told her, holding my hand in front of her face. Her cheeks turned red. She looked like she wanted to say something else, but she held herself back.
I nodded and moved my hand away from her. "As I was saying." I muttered. "We'll take out the players then worry about their fort. We need to get rid of both to win."
"No kidding." I heard someone whisper. My team let out a few chuckles. I shot them all murderous looks.
Ms. Lisa blew her whistle. "Set up your forts!" She shouted. My team ran over to the pile of mats and built a very sloppy fort. Then they all ran back over to me.
Well, most of them.
Cecilia and Nala were still over by the mats, trying to enhance it.
"Hey!" I yelled angrily. "Didn't I say we shouldn't worry about that fort!"
Neither Nala nor Cecilia moved.
"HEY!" I yelled again. "YOU TWO GATHER UP YOUR CRAP AND GET OVER HERE!"
Cecilia froze. Her hands were shaking. Slowly, she got to her feet and walked over to me.
She poked me in the chest. "You're not the boss of me." She growled. "Now shut the hell up and let me help our team."
Ms. Lisa blew the whistle again. "Let's start!" She shouted.
Cecilia and I shot each other angry glares and turned to run in different directions. We both grabbed a ball and set ourselves up to throw.
Then the game started. Balls were flying in all directions. I dodged a ball and threw the one in my hand, hitting someone in the gut. I caught another ball and threw it back to the other side, hitting someone in the leg.
I glanced over at Cecilia and watched her dodge a couple balls and even catch one. I jumped to the side to avoid being hit.
I didn't look at Cecilia for a while. I just threw as hard as I could and dodged as fast as I could.
Close to the end of PE, when I was sure our team would win, I heard a scream.
The whole gym seemed to freeze. All eyes turned to the ground, where someone was on her hands and knees.
Cecilia.
