She got dressed into the dress and when she came out I smiled. "It looks great on you." I tell her. It truely was beautiful on her. She's the most beautiful girl I've ever seen. She may be young but her beauty is incredible. I just wish I could hold her and tell her how special she is to me. She smiles and I see a slight red tint to her cheeks. I laugh. "We should get going so we aren't late to the ceremony." I tell her, looking down at my phone to see the time. It's already 11:30. She nods. "Ok." She says in a shy tone, making me smile. I walked with her back out to the meeting building. "See you up there." I whisper before sneaking up to the front.

I'm debating what to tell my father after the ceremony. Violet is my mate, but she's only 15. I don't mind but I'm not sure how everyone else will take it. Her father definitely won't be happy about it either. What to do, what to do... I walk up to where my father is waiting. He glances at me. "I wish you could do this for me." He laughs. I smirk and shrug. "Maybe if you'd just give me the position I could. To late now." I say with a shrug. He sighs but chuckles. "By all technicality I can't hand over the position until you find your mate, unless I get special permission." I sigh and nod. "Yeah... permission the Elders will never give..." I say, looking to the ground. He shrugs. I look over and see the Elders walk into the building.

The Elders counsel are a small group of men and woman who have been chosen for the soul purpose to vote on an Alpha's decisions. Not all packs have them, but most do. Their job is to make sure an Alpha makes decisions that will only benefit the pack. If a pack is under an Alpha who only cares about himself, the Elders are their to make sure he doesn't make any bad decisions that might harm the pack. There are normally four to ten members of this group. Former Alphas, Lunas, Betas, and Deltas are normally part of this group. Other members are voted in by the other Elders and the current Alpha and Luna. The Elder counsel normally has a Chief Elder who relays the decisions of the counsel to the Alpha and the pack. The Elder counsel members are some of the most well respected within the pack, next to the Alpha and Luna.

Everyone goes silent as the chief Elder walks up onto the stage. I watch carefully as my father follows him up to the stage. The chief begins speaking loud enough for all to hear him. "We would like to welcome the former members of Red Moon pack, to Black Diamond pack." I know that name. That who's these people are? Their Alpha was my father's best friend. I guess that explains why he invited them to join us. "Alpha Grey will now go through with the ceremony, and following the ceremony, we have an announcement for the entire pack. Grey, I leave it to you." The chief walks down to stand with the other Elders as my father begins the ceremony.

The ceremony is an annoying process to be honest. Each person must come up and first say an oath. After the oath the Alpha, my father, makes a small cut on his palm while the new member does the same. They then shake hands, causing their blood to mix, making the person a full member of our pack. I stand to the side as my father starts. He calls the first name, which is Violet's father. Him being the former beta of Red Moon pack makes him first up. I watch him take the oath then cut his hand. They shake hands and I feel him added to the pack. It's weird but we can feel when someone is added to our pack. Its one of those things nobody count really explain.

Everyone claps before he walks off the stage. I look out to the crowd as my father calls for Violet. I see her and watch as she comes forward. She walks past me and I hold my hand out with a smirk. She smiles and slaps my hand before going up. My sister looks at me. "She looks good in that dress. Tell her she can keep it if she wants." She says with a smile. I nod. I see her mate standing beside her, he would be going up soon as well. I look back up at the stage as Violet starts the oath. I listen to her every word and when she's done speaking, I watch her cut her palm and shake my father's hand. I feel the connection of her being welcomed into our pack. My wolf is excited as well. He doesn't talk all that much but when he does its usually something serious or exciting for him. I am surprised he's said nothing about our mate yet.

I watch Violet closely as she turns to the crowd and is welcomed by clapping, just like her father had been. She looks so nervous. She gets off the stage and goes to stand with her father. The ceremony continues until everyone has gone. It lasted about an hour or more. Once the last person is done, the chief Elder stands from his place and makes his way up to the stage. He stands beside my father. "After this we will have a gathering outside so everyone can get to know our new members a little more. But first, Grey I believe you have something you'd like to say." I watch them with confustion. What could my father possibly want to say to the whole pack? My father steps forward with a serious look on his face.

"Today is a wonderful day. We have welcomed new members into our pack, and also it is my mate Amber and I's anniversary today. I have spoken to my mate and we have decided we want to spend more time together. I'm getting to old for this job." Everyone laughs as he says this. Is he saying what I think he's saying? I stare at him as he continues. "I have spoken with the Elders and it has been decided." He turns and looks right at me. "I am stepping down from my position as Alpha of the Black Diamond pack. Heath is to take over as Alpha, as of right now. That is, if you except it my son."
