1 month later
It been a month now since Violet learned we are mates. We had started training with the other packs and we currently have the next 10 now. They are from Pete's pack. They seemed like good fighters but they are having more trouble with our training. I guess our training is a bit difficult compared to some other packs.
We hadn't had much problems out of Allison since that day in the dining room. Her and Michelle will fight time to time but Michelle is capable of taking care of herself, and Allison hasn't said another word about Violet. I think she finally realized I'm not somebody you want to make angry. Especially when the anger is formed because of someone disrespecting my mate and the future Luna of my pack. Though, I do not know when she can become a true Luna to my pack. Violet still doesn't like the idea of going out where humans see us. She also doesn't like getting to close to me around the other pack members. She basically dosn't want everyone knowing we are mates. I pick her up from school every day now though, and we still train but we only train Monday's and Wednesday's. I'd taken her out a few times but she refused to get to close to me in public.
I will be honest, it hurts a lot that my mate does not want humans to know we are together. I guess in a way I understood why she acts this way. Being only 17 and dating a 27 year old was a bit strange to humans and even some wolves but that didnt bother me, and I had figured after at least this long she would not still have such a problem with it. My wolf was in even worse condition that I was, and him being so upset all the time made me weaker both physically and emotionally. The way she acted around us made him very much upset, but at times he would even get angry with her. Just the other day we were alone in the movie room. She was laying on me as we watched a movie together. A few pack members came in to get something and she moved away from me. My wolf had almost snapped when she did this. I didn't even know what to do so I had just ignored it. I knew I couldnt let this continue or my wolf would not be able to handle it anymore.
I was currently waiting for her to get out of school. It's Friday and I had planned for us to go out to a restaurant after I picked her up. She had been relucant at first but I told her it wasn't an option this time and that I was taking her out no matter what she said. I hear the bell ring and wait for her to walk out. I see her and I open the door when she gets closer. "Hello love." I say with a smile. She smiles and slides into the car. I shut the door and then get in myself. "I missed you." I tell her. She giggles. "I missed you too." She says. "So how was your day?" I ask, starting the car. I glance at her. "It was alright. Took a test in chemistry and made a perfect score. It was that test you helped me study for." She say, smiling at me. "I'm glad I could help little one." I smile back as I drive out of the school parking lot and away from the place.
The restaurant wasn't far so it took only a few minutes to get there. Once there we walk in and get a table rather quickly. "Get whatever you like little one." I tell her as I pick up my menu and start looking through it. I see her nod and start looking at her own menu. After ordering we just sit and talk until our food is brought out. We laugh and talk between eating as well. I truly didnt know how to tell her what I felt, and as I was trying to think of what to say, a man brings us the check. He looks at Violet. "Hey Vi I thought that was you." He says, making her look up at him. I frown and glare at him. "Oh hey James! I didn't know you worked here." She laughs. My wolf is on edge now, not sure who this boy is. That's when he glanced over at me. "Oh Violet who is this?" He asks. I smirk and look at my mate waiting for her answer.
She looks worried. "Oh this is my friend Heath." She tells him. My heart breaks at the words she speaks. My wolf whimpers, feeling betrayed. I stare at her but she doesn't look at me, only smiles at the boy. "Oh that's cool. So I didn't get to talk to you at school today. I was wondering-" "Um excuse me? I'd like to pay now." I interrupt him as he speaks to her. He looks at me then the check that I'm holding out to him with my card. He nods and takes it. "I'll be right back with your receipt." He says, clearly annoyed. I nod and watch him walk a little ways away. I say nothing as I wait for him. I refuse to look at Violet, feeling betrayed by my own mate.
The guy comes back and hands me the receipt as well as my card. I watch him lean over and whisper something to Violet. I listen in. "You're friend is really rude." I grip the pen in my hand and sign the stupid slip before standing. "Let's go.." I say. I see the guy glare at me. "Give me a call Vi.. I will see you at school Monday." I hear him say to her before walking away. I stiffen, and glance at her as she stands, nodding with a smile. I frown and walk out of the restaurant and to the car with her close behind me.
The whole ride I speak with Alex through the pack link. Violet doesn't speak to me, and I know it's pointless for me to ask her why she did it. We get to the pack house and I step out of the car. Violet walks inside and upstairs while I go to my office where Alex is waiting. "Are you sure about this Heath?" He asks. I nod without a word and get into my desk, pulling out a few papers with phone numbers. I hand him one. "Call him and let him know. I have something I need to do.." I say. He nods and I walk out of my office, upstairs and to Violets room. The door is open so I walk in. I see Rose standing there petting Emerald and talking to Violet. "I need to speak to Violet alone." I say when they turn to look at me. Rose bows her head and walks out. I shut the door and look at Violet.
I walk over to her and sigh. "I'm leaving." I say. She looks shocked. "What? But why?" She asks. I shake my head, looking away. "Heath where are you going?" She asks. I hear fear in her voice. "I'm going to Dominic and Jocelyn's pack to do some training with the others." I tell her. "But why? What about the pack! What about me!" She is crying now and I feel my wolf getting angry at me. "I'm leaving because of you Violet. I can't sit around waiting for you to accept me as your mate. I cant sit by and watch you with some boy, acting like all I am is your damn friend Violet! I can't and I won't. Maybe you are to young. Which is why I'm leaving. You figure out what is so wrong with being my mate and you can grow up more so you can realize I am the only one for you and I am not just your friend anymore. Our bond is so much more than that and I wish you could realize how much you mean to me. But I'll give you time. Whether it be weeks, months, or years." I step closer and place my hand on either side of her face. "Because I love you Violet, and I will do whatever it takes to make you realize that." I kiss her forehead, then release her, turning and walking out of the room. I walk out and don't turn back. I will give her as long as it takes, to make her realize we are meant to be together. Even if it means staying away for a while.
