The next day at school was the same. I still got picked on and Michael was even more distant. Nathan kept trying to talk to me but I didn't need another stupid reason for people to hate me. And him talking to me would make Kathy even worse than she already is. But he just keeps sitting by me and not Kathy. When school was over I was happy as I ran over to the music building. I found Mrs. Dacker at her desk writing and grading papers.
"Ah, Kerri! How're you today?" she asked smiling
"I'm okay thank you." I replied
"Do you want to show me what you practised yesterday?" she asked getting up.
"Yeah, sure!" I replied sitting at the piano.
I pulled out my music and set it in front of me. I started playing and all of my worries vanished. Michael Kathy, Nathan. It was just me and my music. It's my escape our of this crazy world. I finished the piece and she applauded and then another pair of hands joined in.
"Oh, Nathan! Glad you could make it today! This is Kerri. She's been my student for three years now." Mrs. Dacker said
"We've met already." Nathan said smiling at me
"That's great! It won't be awkward then! Both of you are very talented musicians so I'm excited to hear both of you together!" Mrs. Dacker said
Oh great.
