Blitz and Carolin stalked silently to the edge of the camp to see if anyone had woke yet and to their luck, no one was. They quickly trotted to their den and laid back down in their nests. Blitz was exhausted and was really for a nap. He glanced over at Carolin who looked very restless instead of very tired. "Are you alright Carolin?" She looked over at him, her blue eyes sparkling with distress. She looked at the entrance and back to Blitz. What is she thinking? He thought curiously. She walked over to him and laid down next to him with her head propped up on his front legs. Blitz was both confused and afraid for Carolin. I've never seen her thus stressed out, he thought what could I do to help her or comfort her at the least. He looked around as if an answer would come flying through the entrance. He laid his head down over Carolin's back. He saw her smile and the relaxed a little. It wasn't long before they had both fallen into sleeps cradling arms.

Blitz heard paw steps approaching their den. He lifted his head abruptly as the visitor walked in. It was Angora. Blitz relaxed a little, Angora knew of the affections Blitz and Carolin shared for each other and would not to tell anyone. Angora walked up to him and smiled, "Early morning patrol?" She asked. Blitz nodded his head silently so he wouldn't wake Carolin. Angora looked down at Carolin warmly and spoke again in a whisper, "Scorch wants to see you." Blitz nodded again and carefully began to slowly move Carolin off of his front legs then stood and followed Angora into the meeting den. He walked in to find Scorch already there, waiting patiently. "Sit" Scorch said. Blitz took a seat beside the opening. "We need to talk" Scorch said in a low but hard tone. Blitz stared blankly at him. "Talk about what?" Scorch rose from his spot and moved closer to him. "We need to talk about Carolin."
Carolin's P.O.V.
Carolin woke to the barks coming from outside her den. She quickly stood as Angora came crashing in. "You need to come out here now." She said in a scared tone. Carolin raced outside to find Blitz and Scorch staring each other down. One growling at the other. What's going on? Carolin asked herself. Angora came running up next to her as well as Kayler. She huffed "What is he so pissed off about now Carolin?" Carolin looked at Kayler. This was the first time she had spoken a word to her since she became beta. "I'm not sure,"she said," I just got out her and saw this happening." Carolin looked over at the two males. Blitz very rarely ever gets into trouble, what did he do that is so wrong that starts a fight between them? Carolin pondered the question, then it hit her like a branch falling from its tree. Scorch knows. She thought fearfully. She saw Scorch looked over at her and gave a sly smile. "You," he said ," Here. Now." Carolin took a gulp and walked over to him. She could hear the fearful whimpers coming from her sisters, wondering what he was gonna do with her. She walked until she was next to Blitz then stopped. Scorch wasn't amused. "I said COME HERE." He jabbed his paw into the ground in front of him. Carolin folded her ears in fear and walked toward him again. She stopped in the exact spot he told her to go and stared up at him. He glared at her viciously and swiped a paw across her face. She fell to the earth under their feet and yelped. "I'm not sure if you're worthy of being this packs beta anymore, or being in this pack in general." Scorch said. "Kayler, come here dear girl." Carolin looked over at her sister who was making her way over to them. "Do you want to be beta again Kayler?" She nodded. "Then you may, on one condition, you banish your sister from this pack and territory." Carolin was horrified, she wouldn't banish me would she? Kayler looked down upon Carolin and back at Scorch with no sign of emotion on her face. Suddenly, an angry voice rose into the air. "That is it!" It said,"I can't take anymore of your rules of any male in the pack can't have a mate except for the alpha! Its completely stupid and should be ended!" Carolin turned over to see Blitz in attack mode.
Blitz's P.O.V.
Blitz stared angrily at Scorch. It was time to end all of this now. He looked over at his weak and scared Carolin, adding more fuel to the already raging fire. Scorch laughed. "I refuse to change these rules, they were set by alphas before me and I won't dishonor them." Blitz's golden eyes burned with hatred " What about the alphas packs before us? No pups of their own, no families of their own, the alphas of their times dishonored their own packs." Scorch stared at Blitz intently then he looked at Carolin and gave a smug smile. He stepped over Carolin to where he was standing just above her. She looked at Scorch then to Blitz in a scared and horrified way. "You're not getting her that easily." Scorch said. Blitz kept staring him down," then I guess I'll have to fight for my right to have a family. If I win, I become alpha, if I loose I leave the pack and you get to keep Carolin." Carolin tried to get up. "Blitz no, you can't!" She called to him. "Deal." Scorch said and like that, they were after each other.

Dont you just hate cliffhangers! Dont worry, more is on the way and we will find out in chapter 9 if Biltz and Carolin get to stay together or if Blitz leaves everything he ever wanted with the monster he once called alpha. Find out in chapter 9 Rainy days.
