Chapter 1. A New Beginning

Carolin raced through the forest, panting and angry at her sister. How could she had just wandered away with Angora like that? She's too young yet to be running around with Kayler, Carolin thought. She didn't want a repeat of their lives before they involuntarily became loners. That night within their pack, when Carolin was just beginning to hunt for them, Kayler was an immature pup and Angora was still so little, they were attacked by hunters. She watched her mother and father die, right there in the snow along with everyone else. She had grabbed Angora and gotten Kayler and left not knowing if there were any other pack survivors. That day was the most horrific day of her life. The soft rustle of bushes snapped her out of her dark memories and back to the present. The bushes rustled again. Carolin, without hesitation, leaped on top of the bush. It yowled in suprise. She stepped off just in time to watch her sister come flying out from under it. Her sliver fur flashed as she turned to glare her amber eyes at Carolin. "What the hell sis?" Kayler exclaimed. Carolin shrugged and began searching around for Angora. Kayler rolled her eyes, "She's by that Red Oak over there." She jabbed a paw at the little blonde pup. Carolin ran over to Angora and picked her up. Angora's emerald eyes flashed at Kayler and then back to the tree. "We have to go now Angora," Carolin started,"I believe I have found the scent of a pack in search of new wolves." Kayler started wagging her tail excitedly and Angora yipped. "Come on, this way." Carolin said and then broke out into a sprint still holding the young pup in her jaws. She could feel Angora's heart beating at a hundred miles an hour. Kayler, not far behind began to bark loudly. This was it, the start of a new pack and the beginning of the new life.
