Carolin was wide awake now. What had she just seen? Was it a sign or just a dream? She glanced over at Blitz who was sound asleep right beside her. His he having the same dream right now? She turned over to face him. "Blitz," she said,"are you awake?" Blitz lifted his head drowsily. Carolin tilted her head "You look like you didn't sleep at all Blitz." He glanced over at the entrance. "I guess I really didn't," he said," I had this...dream. It was really strange. You were there, we were in the forest and we were chasing something." Carolin listened intently. "Blitz, I don't mean to scare you but...I had the exact same dream. We were chasing a white cougar. She didn't attack us afterwards, she just stared at us and said " You now know where to find me." Blitz looked at her in shock. "Its gotta be a sign," he said,"we should tell Scorch." Carolin put a paw on his back, "No Blitz, we can't tell anyone, not yet at least. We need to find that cougar." Blitz lifted Carolin's paw off of his back and stood up. "Alright," he said,"I trust your judgment. She said we knew where to find her so...let's go to that opening in the forest." Carolin Nuzzled Hus cheek. "Good idea," she said,"lets go now while the others are still asleep." They both got to their paws and softly padded out of their den into the forest.
They sprinted through the trees, searching for the spot that the cougar was in their dreams. "Have you ever seen a white cougar before?" Carolin turned and looked at Blitz. He shook his head, "No..have you?" "None that I can recall." She answered. Carolin searched the area then stopped. She put her nose to the ground and began to sniff around. Blitz came to a slow stop as he watched her. Carolin walked around with her nose to the ground, searching for the strange scent of a cougar. She lifted her head "this way." She said, then took off in that direction. Blitz followed, "how do you know its her?" Carolin slowed to a trot so he could catch up and get next to her. "I don't ," she said," I smelled the scent of a cougar so I followed it." Blitz stayed quite as they reached a twisted tree. "This is it," Carolin said," this us where she said we would find her." They both sat patiently underneath the tree for her arrival. The sun started to rise when the leaves in the tree rustled and they could see a white face and two flame colored eyes. The cougar made her way down the twisted up tree and landed not far from the two of them. She sat looked at them both intently. Then she spoke, "what are your names." Carolin spoke up "I'm Carolin and this is Blitz." Blitz dipped his head in respect. The cougar nodded,"I'm Willow." Blitz stood up," if you mind me asking, why did you call us here?" Willow grinned,"I love the curiosity Blitz, I have called you both her to ask you a few questions, they are kind of personal questions but I promise it'll be if use and I will not share with others. Carolin and Blitz turned to look at each other and nodded. "We will answer your questions Willow." Carolin answered. Willow nodded and closed her eyes. "What is your past like?" Carolin tensed up and Blitz stared at her. "Carolin, are you alright?" Carolin looked over at him and she became at ease. "I'm alright, thank you Blitz." She turned to look at Willow who was now looking at her. "My pack, my old pack, were attacked by hunters. I don't know how they found us but they shot all of my packmates, my parents, my siblings and they killed our pups. I managed to save only two of my sisters, Kayler and Angora, but it still haunts me to this day. Could I have done more? Saved more pups or packmates? Looked for any other surviving packmates?" Carolin stopped. She saw that Willow had come close and had laid her head on her shoulder as well as Blitz. She carried on, "what could I have done to know that they were coming, save my whole pack?" Willow lifted her head and stared into Carolin's eyes, "you had truly had done all you could. You saved your sisters, you could've went to find survivors but if you did, your sisters would've been dead." Carolin let this settle inside her head. Blitz lifted his head off of her shoulder and looked at Willow. He sighed "my story isn't so great either." He said. "I was abandoned by my family, they just left me, if it wasn't for Storm I would be dead." Carolin watched Willow take all of this information in as the sun rose higher in the sky. Finally, Willow stood up and walked towards the twisted tree she was sitting in front of and turned to look at the two wolves. "Meet me here again in 4 days." She said then climbed up the tree and was gone. Blitz turned to Carolin, "Do you think she is trying to harm us in anyway?" Carolin stared at the tree, "No", she said," I think she is trying to help us. Now come on, let's get back to camp we will think of an excuse on the way." Blitz nodded and together they both started for home.
