F.C. 5

"Our lunch?" I must have misheard Alice say that we were going to have the animals outside for lunch. I mean, you can't have a bear, a lion, and a deer for lunch, right? It didn't seem very appetizing. Cooked, it would be downright disgusting.

"Ours, including you? No. Ours, meaning everyone else? Yes." Alice replied, making me frown in confusion.

"What?"

"You will be having pasta. We are going to take those scrumptious animals that are waiting right outside for us," cut in Edward.

That only caused me to become even more confused, and Alice, seeing this, said, "Come on, let's go to the kitchen," and pulled me through the door and into the dining room. As Edward pulled out a chair for me and I sat down, everyone came inside and formed a semicircle around me, with Carlisle in the middle.

He gave me a serious look, and I gave him my full attention, "We have something very important to tell you, but first you have to promise not to tell anyone. Ever."

"I still don't understand why you're telling her this. You haven't even known her for a day, and you're entrusting her with our biggest secret? This is stupid," complained Tanya with a sneer.

Rosalie nodded as if agreeing with Tanya. Emmett laughed, "for once you're actually agreeing with her? This is something else!"

Rosalie smacked him on the arm and glared at me. I shrunk back in to the table.

"She's trustworthy," said Edward, which made me get a tingly feeling all over my body.

"And how would you know that?" Tanya snapped, which made me surprised, since they looked so... together, like the kind of couple that would never get angry with the other, no matter what. Jeez, she really must not like me.

"She isn't going to tell anyone anytime soon," said Alice, which made Tanya close her mouth. Weird. Alice has more power over Edward's partner than he does?

"This was about to get really good, Alice!" Complained Emmett.

"Emmett, back off," said Tanya.

"Look who's talking," bit back Rosalie.

Emmett groaned, "Darn it!"

Through all of this I just kept getting more and more confused.

"Hey!" shouted Edward, "I know you aren't exactly fond of Tanya, but she's with me, and if you can't accept that, I guess we'll just have to go back to the Denali's."

"Edward, you can't keep threatening to go back there every time we say something to your... girlfriend," said Esme trying to calm Edward down, "We love you. We don't want you to go anywhere, but we argue with each other all the time. Why can't we with Tanya?"

"Because you all get annoyed and irritated with her every time you even say so much as one word to her! Every time she says anything, even if it's kind! Believe me, I know. I can hear it, remember? Even if you don't actually say it!"

He can hear it? I was just about to explode from all this nonsense, when Jasper said with eerie calmness, "Why don't we tell Isabella what we were going to tell her before, and then continue this bickering afterwards? I'm getting hungry."

This caused Alice to put an arm on Japer, Emmett to stand slightly in front of him, and Edward to move between him and me. All this happened in a split second, and I barely had time to register this in my head, but a sense of calm settled over me, extinguishing my panic.

"Bella," I remarked.

"What?" demanded Tanya, and Rosalie shot her a nasty look.

"Call me Bella, not Isabella-"
