So I try not to have author's notes, but I wanted a new cover and accidentally deleted the last one... The one I made won't work. Can anyone make one for me? I'll dedicate a chapter in the future to you!!! This doesn't happen, like, at all, so... I can also look at your book and edit it for you- I've been told I'm good at that... Anyways, hopefully this next chapter is motivation enough:

I yawned and tried to stretch, but my arms were being held around someone's very muscular neck.

"Up already? I was hoping you'd still be sleeping by the time we got there."

"Got there? got where?" I asked.

"Everyone's already there. Just hold tight for another twenty minutes," he replied, not really answering my question. I squirmed around, suddenly very aware that my legs were wrapped around him. Tightly.

"Where is there?" I asked, trying to distract myself.

Edward chuckled, "We're going to Texas for a few hours while we get some paperwork filled out. Then we'll hop on a plane to a safe house where no one will find T-," he cut himself off, "where no one will find us."

"Why? Are we in danger?"

Edward sighed, "We're almost there. Just relax."

"Why didn't we get there at the same time as anyone else?"

"JUST BE QUIET AND LET ME FOCUS!" Edward boomed. I gasped and went absolutely still, stiffening in the process.

I didn't move for what felt like forever, with Edward seeming to go faster with every tree we passed. I could see us zooming past countless branches, leaves, and flowers and suddenly realized why Edward had told me to keep my eyes closed. I cringed into his back, burying my head into his neck, closed my eyes as tight as I could, and took long, deep breaths.

"I TOLD YOU TO KEEP YOUR EYES CLOSED!!!" Edward boomed again. I whimpered, and this time he continued with a much quieter, softer tone, "I'm sorry. I'm just really confused about Tanya right now. The reason we had to leave is because those vampires threatened us with your life. We wouldn't put you in that position."

"So this is my fault?" I asked with a whisper.

"NO! No, of course not! That's why I'm confused. I thought Tanya was better than that. The girl I loved would never put an innocent life on the line."

"But she loves you, right? Maybe she just didn't want to leave you..." It was harder than I could ever have imagined to get those words out. Wait. I couldn't actually have real feelings for him, could I? He's, like, my brother now, right? Isn't that-

"Maybe. I don't know anymore," Edward snapped me out of my thoughts. " That guy, Derek, sure seemed to love her. More than me, even. I mean, something always felt off, but when I look at you..." he trailed off.

"What?" I asked, "You what?"

"Nothing, never mind," Edward responded, and started slowing down again. "The reason the rest of them got there first was because I didn't want you to get hurt, so I went slower. They offered to stay with us, but there are things to do in Texas before we get there. They should be done by now, though. Jasper knows a guy."

"A guy?"

"Yeah, don't worry about it. I'm sorry I snapped at you earlier."

"It's okay, really. I know you didn't mean it."

"Yeah, but I would nevereven dream of hurting someone that I care about so deeply like that-"

"What?" Could he actually have feelings for me, too?

"Edward! There you are! I was starting to get worried!" someone yelled, then threw her arms around the both of us and kissed Edward full-on. Tanya. Needless to say, being so close to them while they kissed was down-right disguisting. Well, it didn't really seem like Edward was doing much kissing. Just Tanya.

Edward pushed her away long enough to get me off of his back and to Alice before Tanya jumped on top of him and basically ate his face. He didn't seem to enjoy it too much, but he wasn't stopping her either. Maybe he doesn't actually like me like that after all. It's probably just brothery affection...

"Hey, how are you?" Alice asked softly, pulling me into her arms and taking off, past the two lovers. "Has Edward filled you in yet?"

I nodded my head and focused on not letting the tears flow out.

Alice sighed, "Hey, it's okay. These things have a way of working out in the end. Nothing's going to happen to you. I won't let it. Those vamps won't lay a finger on you."

I nodded again and lost the battle with my tears. At least she doesn't know about my crush on her brother. That would be bad. Really bad. Who knew how she actually felt about Tanya? What if Tanya found out? She could just touch me and I could be dead. I'll have to hide my feelings somehow.
