Turns out the rest of the Cullens were staying in a hotel when they were waiting for us and getting everything ready. When Alice and I walked into the hotel room, Jasper was talking furiously on the phone with someone, Emmett was watching football, Rosalie was packing a suitcase and unloading a lot of shopping bags that littered the floor, Esme was checking things off of a list she had in her hand, and Carlisle was busy looking worriedly at the clock every two seconds. When Carlisle saw us walk through the door, he smiled and was in front of me before I could say "Hi!"
He hugged me and told me that everything was going to be okay. He nodded to Alice, and she went over to Jasper and put a consoling hand on his shoulder. Carlisle led me over to Emmett, who moved over on the sofa he was sitting on, and started explaining the game to me.
We must have started the game when it had just started, because it took two hours for it to finish. By the time it was over, though, everyone seemed tense and ready to go. Emmett went over to Rosalie and took her hand with one of his and picked up two suitcases with the other. How? I have no idea, but he did. Carlise was already out the door with Esme in tow. Alice came over by me, and Jasper calmed Tanya while Edward just looked on. Jasper pulled them out the room, leaving only me and Alice.
"Are you ready?" Alice asked.
"As ready as I'll ever be!" I responded with fake enthusiasm.
The next three hours were spent in travel to the airport, baggage check-in, and finding the terminal. I was too caught up in my own thoughts and too busy watching Edward and Tanya to even notice where our destination was.
By the time I got on the plane, I stopped caring. The whole flight, I just stared out the window and listened to a movie that was playing.
I don't remember when I fell asleep, but before I knew it, I was being jostled awake by Tanya. Quite roughly, if you ask me, but it didn't seem like anyone was paying attention. Everyone just seemed tense and worried. I'd ask how serious it is, but it was written all over their faces: really not good.
As soon as we stepped out of the airport, reality kicked in. I was no longer in America. I don't know when I would return.
It seemed like it was the middle of the night, since it was pitch-black out. Alice scooped me into her arms again, and we were off once again. I closed my eyes, remembering my run with Edward not so long ago.
I finally opened my eyes when I felt Alice stop running. She set me down gently and I turned around to see where we were.
It was amazing. It was a beautiful white mansion with windows surrounding almost every inch of it. It was like the one back in Forks, but... different. It wasn't a rectangle, but instead more angular, like triangles stacked on top of each other.
I guess I was dizzy from the ride, so when I stepped forward, my legs gave out under me. Someone caught me. Expecting it to be Alice, I smiled and hugged the person enthusiastically, "This place is amazing!"
"It is, isn't it?" someone with a deep voice said.
I jerked back. Edward? I looked around for the others, but Tanya was the only one there. I guess everyone else was already inside.
Edward said, "Time to go inside. You can go to sleep. You're clearly exhausted. I forget how much this kind of thing can affect a human!" he chuckled. Tanya cleared her throat, and Edward looked at her, "Sorry," he mumbled, then said louder, to me, "Close your eyes."
I did, and drifted off to sleep in his arms.
Okay guys, I know this was a short chapter, but combined with the other one, I don't think it's that bad... Plus, I started a new story. It's called Perfect. Please go check it out! There's only one chapter out so far, but I'm really excited about it. Plus, the more I update that one, the more I update this one. :) I'd really like your support for both of these, so please vote and comment! I really like to hear more from you guys than just "Please update!" Anyways, check out my new story and also that other one I told you guys about before (the one my friends are writing together): Enlightening Eve.
Thanks Guys!
