Angel (Jack X Reader)AU

Since I'm feeling better, have a short one shot because the other one I'm working on is taking longer than I thought it would XD  Hope you like it :)

"Jack I can't believe we're doing this!"  You say as you happily swing Jack's hand between the two of you.  He can't help but smile at your joyful nature, plus you looked absolutely adorable today so it made his even more glad to see you like this.

Snugging your white snow hat further onto your head, you snugged closer to Jack giggling all the while.  Today was a great day.  The two of you had gone out for lunch, had done a little bit of early Christmas shopping and just driving around taking in the winter wonderland.  Yes it was cold, but the area where you and Jack lived was beautiful during this season, and you liked wearing warm clothes so it was a win-win.  Jack however didn't appreciate the snow.  The shoveling and constantly wiping off his windows on the car, he was ready for it to all be gone.  And he hated dressing up with tons of layers, it pissed him off sometimes.

But Jack was especially good for you today, despite the weather.  He had a surprise for you today, and at the end of lunch he told you what he planned to do, and the mall was the only place to do it.

"Maybe they have a German Shepard!  Or maybe a Lab! Or--!"

You were cut off by Jack's chuckling.  You turn to look up at him as he straightens out his jackets collar.  

"You're like a child (y/n)."  He said.

"We're getting a puppy Jack.  A puppy; how are you not excited!?"

Once again you heard his chuckling, and it was rather adorable because it made you smile.

"Of course I am." Jack said as he lightly pinched your cheek, "I've just never seen you this excited before.  You're too cute."

You jog slightly ahead of him as you turn around and start to walk backwards.  

"Well, let's find one that's cuter than I am.  Then we'll definitely know it's the one."

"What are you talking about?  Something cuter than you?  Impossible."

You then return to his side as you grab his hand, giggling as he kisses your head.

"Oh my God Jack! LOOK AT THEM!"

You had your face pressed onto the glass as you looked into the open cages.  Seven puppies ran around inside tackling each other and pawing on the barrier that prevented you from petting them.  There were two small Pomeranians,  a black Lab, three beagles and a Golden Retriever who seemed to be really interested in one of the other puppies ears.  He'd continuously gnaw on it until he eventually wen to the big food dish.

"I think I'm gonna die."  You say as you feel Jack's hand wrap around your waist, "the cuteness is killing me right now."

"Well before that happens let's decide which one gets to go home with us."

It was about twenty minutes and the two of you still hadn't decided yet on which puppy to buy.  Your apartment was small so you figured a small dog would be best.  Jack liked to go out for walks in the morning and you in the evening, sometimes together so it would be nice to have a dog that would keep up with the two of you.  And you wanted a lap dog or something to cuddle up with when Jack was gone for work during the weekdays.  Your boyfriend wanted something that would play as well, Jack was energetic so it would have been nice to play with one.  Both of you wanted something mellow yet it had enough energy so that it wasn't laying around all day.  One of the beagles was the first choice the two of you made, but sadly when you went to check with the store clerk they were unfortunately already sold to other people who were to get them later that evening, so that just left the Pomeranians.  

"We want it to be female."  You say to the clerk as he pulls out a clipboard. Luckily one of the dogs was a girl, so you and Jack decided that a female Pomeranian is what you were going to get.

"Go pick out a collar for her (y/n)," Jack said, "I'll fill out the paperwork."

And you happily did so.  You found a cute pink collar for her that had diamonds sewn into it, it also had a little bell that hung in the front.  It also came with a leash.  

And since there was no dog bowls or any toys at the apartment you decided to get her all of that.  Two dog bowls and two chew toys, a bone and a squeaky toy.  You could barely keep in your excitement.

As you made your way back to Jack, you almost dropped everything in your hand when you saw the little furball sitting by Jack's legs, it's little paws hidden by the overgrown fur.  It's eyes were so big and so black, and it had the tiniest little ears that would perk up every time Jack moved.  He bent down to pick it up, and then smiled happily as he saw you come closer.

"There you are.  Meet the new addition to our family."  Jack said.

"Hi!"  You say as you pat it's head gently, "Aren't you the cutest thing!"

After saying your greetings to your new little friend you paid for everything else that you had picked out for the puppy, and soon the two of you were on your way home with the puppy tucked into Jack's coat, it's little head was the only thing that stuck out so it could look around.

"You ok Jack?"  You ask, noticing how quiet he was now.  He sighed as smiled as he looked down at the animal.

"Angel and I had a dog like this long ago."

Angel. . .  Jack's daughter.  due to an unfortunate accident she was no longer in his life anymore.  Jack had gotten a puppy similar to this one when Angel was just little, an the two of them instantly bonded.  It tore his heart out when the dog passed away, it was the only thing that kept him company once Angel was gone.

Hating to see him this way and out of spirit, you knew just what to do.

"I think. . . I've got a good name for her."  You say as you pet the dog and earning Jack's attention.

"What's that?"

You ponder a minute before snuggling up to him, a smile spreading across your face as you look up at him.

"What do you think of 'Angel'?"

Jack was surprised by your sudden question.  Angel?

the more he thought about it, the more the tears began to swell in his eyes.  You were kind and gently to him during these kinds of situation, like whenever he brought up his daughter.  He smiled and chuckled as he bent down to kiss your lips.

"That sounds perfect." He says.  "Welcome to the family Angel."
