Ice Cream

Athena X Reader X Janey

Your friends take you out for a little treat :)

This was requested a while ago before I lost all my requests.  Serves me right for writing them on paper. >_>  Can't remember who asked so if you recognize this setting just let me know!

After a little convincing, Janey talked you and Athena into going out for the day.  It was hot so she figured some ice cream would be a good start to the day.  You and Athena were waiting downstairs talking when Janey literally flew down the stairs, he girlfriend had to catch her from the excitement, Janey completely ignored the steps.

"Take it easy," Athena said, "don't hurt yourself."

You snickered, knowing that Janey's energy would never cease once the three of you made it to the ice cream shop.  She was already hyper, having ice cream would only make the day seem more alive to her, and more chaotic for you and Athena.  But you smiled at her enthusiasm nonetheless.

"C'mon.  I'm getting famished just thinking about the stuff."

And you were right.  When the three of you arrived at the ice cream shop the line was way out onto the edge of the street and down the sidewalk.  You groaned in aggravation and pushed your hair back.

"Looks like we're going to be here a while."  You say as you turn to your friends.  Athena only shrugged and dug out her cell phone and began to play one of her little games.  Janey furrowed her brows and puckered her lips like a pouting kid.  Standing out in the sun for as long as you were about to wasn't good, but Janey wasn't leaving until the three of you got some ice cream.  It was too damn hot not to have any.

"Since I suggested we get ice cream, "Janey started, her hand going for her back pocket, "I'll pay."

She began to dig out more money but Athena stopped her.

"No you payed for gas, I'll buy the ice cream."

"Nonsense.  I'll get it."

Athena's brows furrowed.

"No Jane.  I'll pay.  I have more than you."

You then turned to them after continuing to hear them argue over who was going to pay, it was starting to form a crowd of staring eyes around the three of you.  You grumbled lowly.

"Guys, I'll pay.  Now stop bickering, you're causing a scene."

Janey hooked her arm under yours and scowled at you, making it clear she was paying for all this.  She was persistent, but it was because she wanted to make the two of you happy, and that meant paying for all this herself so you and Athena could have money left over for something else.

But this scene the two of them were making was making you feel embarrassed, so you suggested they go find a place to sit while you got them their ice cream and yours.  It seemed like you would have been there for hours, but the line actually went by pretty fast and you were able to get the ice cream.  Chocolate for Athena, Strawberry for Janey and (favorite flavor) for you.  You found them sitting on a bench with an umbrella overhead to protect the lot of you from the sun.  They happily took their food and said thank you.

"Here, let me give you some money,"  Janey started, "since you bought for us."

You sighed.  Here we go again.

You waved her off with your hand and shook your head, telling her it was fine.

"Don't bother Janey, it's fine."

"Noooo!"  She whined, making Athena roll her eyes.  "I insist!  I wanted to buy it anyways but you said no!"

"Because you already paid for my gas Janey," you say, licking your ice cream, "I didn't ask Athena 'cause I knew she'd want something else after."

You heard Athena snicker.  He ice cream was almost gone already.  "You know me so well (y/n)."

Chuckling, you went to take a taste of your treat but your hand was pulled down forcefully, and soon you felt something rather cold on the end of your nose.  You blinked a couple of times before wiping of the cold off your nose, to see that it was strawberry ice cream smothered at the tip.

"Aw shit, I think some went up my nose!"  You say as you try to blow your nose, pinching your nostrils with your fingers.  Athena and Janey laughed while they watched you twitch your nose and wiggled it around, trying to get the ice cream out.  

That's when you found out there was more than one way to get a brain freeze, and it was way more unpleasant than the other way.
