When Percy woke up, he was terrified and sore. How did he get there? Why was he in chains? What the heck is this place?

He looked around. The room was dark and creepy. There was a pile of moldy hay in the corner and a tiny barred window to the side of the room. The floor was made of reddish sand.

The next thing that drew Percy's attention were the chains wrapped around him. Whoever put him in the chains must not have cared because the way Percy was chained up was messed up. His left wrist was chained to his left leg and chained to the wall. The chains were pulling at his muscles, stretching them out further than they were used to. His right wrist was chained to the wall higher up than the left wrist, and his right leg was chained to the floor, stretching him out a little bit because he was higher up off the ground than expected.

There was a chain across his abdomen. Each side of the chain was chained tightly to the wall squishing Percy's stomach, making it hard for him to breath. As for his head and neck. That was left hanging. There were no chains there.

Percy felt uncomfortable. He was extremely uncomfortable with the way he was chained, especially with the left side of his body, which was chained very oddly.

Percy looked out the window and saw monsters lurking around he had never seen before. "What the Tartarus?" Percy wondered aloud, staring at a strange beast in wonder. The monster looked somewhat like a giant spider. Except it was made of bone. At least that's what Percy thought it was. Its middle legs were somewhat closer to the very middle of the creatures back than the other 8 legs it had. Those legs were positioned towards the belly of the spider. The color was a beige color with black flecks all over it.

Percy shivers. He had never seen the monsters down here in all his life. He was doomed. If he didn't know how to fight these monsters, how would he succeed? That's what Percy wondered.

" I'm so flipping screwed," Percy says quietly to himself.

How will I get out of this mess? he wonders.

He looks at his chains. "If I could just-" Percy starts moving his body to slide out of the mess of chains. He starts with his left side.

Percy moves his leg a tiny bit more upward and pulls down so the leg can get through the chains holding him to the wall. It worked! Percy moves his leg around. It hurts to do so, but it was cramped. What could you expect?

Just as he starts working his wrist out of the cuff, Percy hears a manic laugh, which creeps him out. "Who are you?" he asks unsurely with a little bit of fear intertwining in his voice.

The man steps forward and pulls his hood down.
