WARMTH: SUGAWARA KŌSHI (COLLEGE!AU)

I hurriedly unlocked the door to the apartment I shared with my boyfriend. After entering, I dropped down on the couch, my papers scattered on the floor as I sighed in desperation to have a break from all of these requirements. College was no fun at all seeing that I barely got any sleep from my classes, I had to stay up till late to submit all of my requirements properly and worst of all, I had a part-time job at a small café downtown.

I sighed once again as I picked up all of the scattered papers on the floor then placed them on the low-rise coffee table in front of me. I blew a raspberry then proceeded to do my papers for my literature class. I sighed knowing that I would be up all night once again seeing that my work pile is getting bigger and bigger in an unexpectedly fast rate.

I looked at that clock that hung on the wall; the hands reading 7:24PM. I still have some time before I actually get started with work so I decided to go grab a bite first before doing the pile in front of me. I stood from the carpet and grabbed my keys and purse then set out into the cool night for a bite of the grease I was craving for weeks ago.

Sporting my candy-patterned onesies, I typed my final output for my History class-currently on page 23 of 30-hoping by this'll suffice for our professor tomorrow. The clock read 10:25PM as I typed away on my laptop.

By now, Sugawara should be home. But, where is he?

"Hey, (F/N)-chan! I'm home!" his melodic voice sending chills down my spine as it calmed me down. I sighed in utmost relief then smiled at him as he walked over me and planted a kiss on the side of my forehead.

"How were your classes today, Kōshi? How was your shift?" I asked him as he plopped himself beside me then placed his head on my shoulder. I smiled as his warmth radiated on my neck to my arms as he lay there thinking.

"Classes were fine, (F/N)-chan. And also, the gift shop is doing well since it's already that time of the year," he told me then sat upright again and smiled at me. "Plus! They told me this Christmas, I could get you anything I want from the shop for free!" he excitedly exclaimed making me giggle and pinch his cheeks.

"Kōshi, stop being so cute! That's illegal!" I told him making him laugh and pinch my cheeks in return. "If it was illegal, then I wouldn't be your boyfriend, (F/N)-chan!" he exclaimed making me sigh and pry his hands away from me. His light and bright expression changed to a concerned one; something that warms my heart all the time.

"What's wrong, (F/N)-chan?" he asked, scooting closer to me before wrapping an arm around me. I sighed then looked at him straight in the eye. "You thought I fell in love with you because you were cute?" He shook his head in reply making me smile. I carefully crawled up to his lap then made our noses bump each other which earned me a blush from him making me giggle in return.

"I fell in love with you, Sugawara Kōshi, because I knew that you were the most loving person who would be willing to look after me. Also, I know that you are very warm, which makes me fall for you more," His eyes widened then he pulled me to his chest taking me by surprise. I tried to look up at him but he just held me tighter making me blush.

"K-Kōshi... What are you doing?" I muffled into his chest. He chuckled then stroked my hair making me nuzzle my face into his chest before looking up only to see him smiling down at me lovingly. I blushed at his smile but, nonetheless, I gave back that smile.

"I'm glad you fell for who I am and what I'm not," he told me then kissed my forehead. "And I'm also happy the you fell because of my warmth." He nuzzled his face on my hair which soothed me a bit before he said the words that made my heart skip a beat.

"I knew I picked the right girl. And I was right when I picked you, (F/N)-chan."

And I smiled. And cuddled on his chest.

"I love you, Kōshi."

He nodded then kissed my head sending butterflies on my stomach at the small gesture.

"I love you too, (F/N)-chan."

EXTENDED ENDING:

SUGAWARA'S POV

I held her tight in my arms as she slept ever so soundly; her breathing patterns slowed, her eyes shut softly as if she was on cloud nine. I smiled then slowly moved to the side where my phone was. Grabbing it quickly, I opened the camera then swiftly took a picture of her sleeping soundly in my arms.

I looked at her photo on my phone then smiled. I then put down my phone then lay on the couch, her small frame lying on top of me as she breathed words I could not tell. I hugged her closer to me then stroked her hair.

"Don't worry love, I'll keep you warm, okay?"
