49 - Terror

This world is getting bitter,

And remorseless by the day,

To quench the demons hunger,

With lives we have to pay,

I can feel the master's sorrow,

And his woeful gaping stare,

As he watches his own children,

Kill each other without care.

And the monsters are within us,

Some have risen to the throne,

I see them unleash their evil,

As they collect sins to atone.

I'm worried that someday soon,

I'll be drenched in weeping blood,

I'm inconsolable when my neighbors die,

I've seen scarlet seep into mud.

And the Earth has felt the sorrow,

As has the world beyond,

I've seen this years blood moon,

Burning red for the blood that's gone.

And if I could end this torture,

By bleeding till my veins go weak,

I'd do it in a heartbeat,

To save Earth from this deathly reek.
