Chapter 14

As soon as I walk through the door Jack greets me with a huge, warming hug and a soft, tender kiss on the lips. My mind wanders off as I think that the kiss doesn't feel as good as Marcus' did and I mentally slap myself for thinking of that. Guilt washes over me as he pulls away smiling and rests his forehead against mine.

"You look beautiful!" He gushes over my hair, I blush.

"You're just saying that!"

"No really, I don't know how I came so lucky to get you. You're so out of my league" That just makes me feel even worse...

"If anything, you're out of my league!" I reply, putting emphasis on the 'you're' and 'my'

"No way! Anyway, it's getting late, lets head off to bed!"

Did I mention that the Harries moved out of their house and Jack moved in with me? That just makes me feel worse. As I lay down to bed, Jack gives me a lingering kiss on the lips.

"Goodnight Beautiful, I love you." I need to forget about Marcus, so I reply with.

"I love you too Jack."

I'm awoken by a loud ringing next to my head and after a little while, it sinks in that it is infact my ringtone. I rush to pick it up and manage to just before it ends.

"Hello?" I say groggily.

"Oh, I'm so sorry did I wake you? Is this Iris? this is Niomi by the way." she speeds out at a million miles an hour.

"Oh, hi Niomi yes it is Iris, how can I help you?"

"well me and Marcus were just wondering if you and Jack would like to join us for lunch?"

"Uh, I'll just see if Jack's fine with it, can I text you back?"

"Yeah defs, ttyl!" I cringe at her 'english' and hang up.

"JACK?" I yell as loud as I can, after a few moments he pokes his head in.

"Yes love?"

"Are we free for lunch today?" I ask, hoping he'll say no.

"Yeah sure! with who?"

I linger, trying to avoid telling him who it would be with.

"Iris?"

"...Marcus" He instantly stiffens. "And his girlfriend" I add quickly.

"When did you talk to Marcus?" He asks uncomfortably.

"It's a long story."

"We've got plenty of time Iris" he replies stiffly.

"Well it all started at the salon..."

After explaining everything that happened last night (leaving out mine and Marcus' smooch sesh of course) Jack finally agreed to going (after I told him Marcus was well and truely in love with Niomi)

and we were currently getting ready to go. It's still winter so I rug up in some woolen leggings, about 3 different tops layered, a winter jacket and a scarf.

"Ready to go love?" I turn around to find Jack wearing jeans and a woolen sweater, looking adorable.

I nod my head and we head out.
